This is one of our favorite ministry pictures of all time. Here’s why…
We went to the Encounter Ministries Conference this summer as a family. Turns out, going to a Catholic conference is a different experience with kids compared to when we were young adults. Don’t get me wrong, it was still amazing, but trying to listen to talks while taking one child to the bathroom and then having to help the next kid regulate their big emotions for 20 min can make it feel like you didn’t “get anything out of it.”
On the last night of the conference, we were honestly pretty exhausted. As we were being attacked by this feeling of pointlessness, up walks Dan and his wife Nicole. They asked if we were Drew and Katie and told us they were from Singapore and follow us on Instagram. They were so encouraged by the example of our family, but in reality we were so encouraged by them. We got to pray over them words of blessing for their marriage and family, and I have no doubt that God will do amazing things through them for the Kingdom.
God is always faithful, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
Being a Catholic young adult in the world right now is hard. Satan wants you to think you are all alone and that there’s no point in fighting for your faith. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are heroic people out there stepping up to live the faith in an authentic, broken, and joyful way. Will you join us in making the decision to be one of those people?
