🎉 Happy 3 year anniversary to this channel!! 🎊

Thank you one and all for coming with me on this ride. Once again, I’ve experienced exponential growth in just one year, and had just over 8,000 subscribers on this day in 2024. I am routinely stunned by the overwhelming positivity and support that I receive on a daily basis.

Quick retrospective on this year behind us, Mario sunshine finished, and when I posted it as the 7 hour compilation, I was completely blown away by its success. A Super Mario Sunshine Deep Dive has nearly half a million views and just keeps climbing. As such, I’ve adapted something of a new mindset for the projects going forward, and now consider the full-length deep dive in one video to be the real finished product, and the segments dedicated to each level to be akin to experiencing a game in early access, with viewer feedback and contributions making the compilation far better than if I kept it all under wraps until it was finished.

As always, the speed at which I make them is to my mind, my greatest shortcoming, but one I’ve come to accept. I also wanna mention the concurrent series model I’m currently running with, alternating uploads between Sly 3 and Kingdom Hearts. This came about out of necessity, since the KH videos have a lot more input from other creators, most notably, the incredible artist who draws the stained glass murals for each boss, and the schedule had to slow so I could keep those elements in the video. I don’t plan on doing more concurrent series in the future, but the experience has been positive enough I wouldn’t be against it either.

This year also represented tremendous growth for both my discord and patreon communities, with nearly 500 members in the former, and 1,000 in the latter. I wanna especially shoutout my community manager Yggralith for being the beating heart of the server and for being an absolute pillar of support to me.

As for goals for the future, if the exponential rate of growth continues, we’ll be celebrating 6 digits! My personal goal is 50k by the end of the year, but more importantly I wanna try to have both the current Breakdowns finished on patreon by September, we’ll see!

In the meantime, another massive thanks to you! Everyone and everything! And here’s to another spectacular year!

Can’t get enough Kingdom Hearts analysis?

Check out my man Mythology in Gaming, he’s currently underway on a journey very similar to mine, taking an absurdly close look at each KH world, but his specialty, as you might guess, is Mythology. If learning about the Egyptian myths and Celtic Fairytales that trickled down and inspired the characters and the worlds of Kingdom Hearts sounds like your cup of tea, I’d highly recommend checking it out!
