I have morals and ethics when it comes to my podcast content. I would never go down the route of using clickbait or misleading people just to chase views or money. Out of respect for my guests, my audience and myself, I believe in presenting conversations honestly and authentically.
I have seen many people change their content, their opinions and even their values purely for monetary gain. While everyone is free to make their own choices, that is not something I could ever do. Success means very little if it comes at the expense of integrity.
For me, building trust with an audience is far more important than chasing short term numbers. If people choose to listen to my podcast, I want them to know they are getting genuine discussions and honest content, not manufactured controversy designed to generate clicks.
It is a sorry state of affairs, particularly within the wrestling podcast genre, where sensationalism and attention seeking tactics often seem to take priority over meaningful conversation. There is nothing wrong with wanting a podcast to grow, but growth should come from consistency, credibility and respect for the people giving up their time to be interviewed, not from exploiting stories or creating drama that does not need to exist.
At the end of the day, I would rather grow slowly while staying true to my principles than achieve success by becoming something I do not believe in. My reputation, my integrity and the trust of my guests and listeners will always matter more than chasing the next payday.
Thank you to all my listeners in the UK I've had a solid week in the @applepodcasts wrestling chart! As I always say charting is the icing on the cake for me with @stus_wrestling_podcast1986! Also a huge thank you to every guest who has appeared on the show!
* Make sure you keep producing content! Shorts are a great way to push new and old episodes that you've done! Add clickable links for full episodes from Youtube, Apple Pods, Spotify and all other podcast apps.
* 1 or 2 short clips per day are fine, don't worry about overkill or annoying somebody with mass posting. Create, create and create that's my advice, you will pick up so many followers, viewers and listeners to your show!
