Primero que nada buenas tardes/días o noches de dónde sea que están leyendo esto. He visto por las noticias y otras fuentes la captura del presidente Maduro, y quiero tomarme un momento para dar mi opinión personal sobre lo que está pasando con Venezuela y el operativo contra Nicolás Maduro. A mí, honestamente, me parece que el operativo fue correcto. Durante años se habló de soluciones “pacíficas” que nunca llegaron, mientras millones de personas seguían viviendo bajo un régimen que les quitó libertad, oportunidades y dignidad. La ONU hoy critica acciones que ellos mismos nunca resolvieron cuando tuvieron la oportunidad. No es una postura perfecta ni libre de debate, pero tampoco podemos fingir que la inacción fue mejor. Y si algún venezolano está leyendo esto, me alegra que por fin se hayan librado de un régimen injusto, y espero que esto sea un paso hacia algo mejor. No alabo las acciones de mi presidente Donald Trump, pero tampoco las condeno; esta es únicamente mi opinión personal.

First of all, good afternoon, good day, or good evening—wherever you may be reading this from. I have seen through the news and other sources the capture of President Nicolás Maduro, and I would like to take a moment to share my personal opinion on what is happening in Venezuela and on the operation carried out against him.
Honestly, I believe the operation was justified. For years, so-called “peaceful” solutions were discussed, yet they never came to fruition, while millions of people continued living under a regime that stripped them of freedom, opportunity, and dignity. Today, the United Nations criticizes actions that they themselves failed to resolve when they had the opportunity to do so.
This is not a perfect stance, nor is it free from debate, but we also cannot pretend that inaction was the better alternative. And if any Venezuelan is reading this, I am glad that you have finally been freed from an unjust regime, and I truly hope this represents a step toward something better. I do not praise the actions of my president, Donald Trump, nor do I condemn them; this is simply my personal opinion.
