Finally I have a new laptop up & running! Yippee!! Also figured out how to get my editing software onto it & tested it out making a video short of some of the gorgeous Lord Howe Island birds that will appear in our next video of our trip to this amazing island (can be seen under our shorts tab).

Nature Photography Challenge
We have just come back from a quick trip up to Ouyen, Victoria to see the Pied Honeyeaters. These nomadic birds can be difficult to see as they move around arid landscapes following rainfall and flowering plants. So, it was great seeing them in Ouyen enjoying the flowering eremophilas along with so many other Honeyeaters. We've made two shorts videos of our trip which will appear on our channel over the next 2 days. Pictured: Pied Honeyeater (juv)

Finally I've made a purchase on a brand new high speed laptop!!! This can only be a good thing (once it arrives in store!) as I'm hoping this new laptop will solve so many issues I have making videos.... like being able to basically open my video files!! Thanks for all the votes on our recent poll!! Clearly Lord Howe Island has won so that will be our next video!! 😊 We visited Lord Howe for 7 nights in early December and it really was a wonderful place to visit!! There were so many amazing birds to see from the angelic White Terns nesting in the pines to the ground dwelling Lord Howe Woodhens brought back from near extinction. We explored the island, met the sweet and very intelligent sniffer dogs that keep the island safe and snorkelled with sharks in the most stunning reef we have ever seen!! So.... once I've bought a new computer I'll be getting onto it right away!! Stay tuned! 😊

Wishing all our channel audience Happy Holidays & thank you so much for being part of our community. We love to share our stories & travels with you all & really enjoy reading all the comments & chatting with you. The birds & wildlife we have seen over the last 12 months has been amazing. None moreso than where we are right now... Christmas Island. This island is definitely one of those "bucket list" places to see!! We've been updating our channel with shorts of our trip so don't forget to check those out if you haven't already!! Gosh it's going to be fun putting it all together for a nice long video!! So we are currently on another adventure & I've discovered how to use my iphone's "memories" kind of thing to make shorts videos... how amazing!! They're just snippets of whatever I've recorded on my phone but while we're off doing stuff we can update the channel with real time video & photos. If you are not a fan of shorts (we have to admit we don't watch them ourselves! LOL!) but hey, we figured we'd just give it a go & you can follow along with what we're up to in real time if you would like! So... catch us on our shorts for regular updates!! See you there!!
