*Two Medical Shops Sealed for Violation of Drugs & Cosmetics Act at Chenani by Udhampur Police*

Continuing its sustained action against the illegal sale of controlled substances, Police team of PS Chenani led by its SHO recovered Pregabalin capsules on 09.12.2025 from the possession of Raj Kumar S/O Premu R/O Dogra Kud. During the follow-up (backward link) investigation, the involvement of two medical shops surfaced.

During inspection today, *Life Care Medical Hall, Chenani run by Sudesh Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti* and

*Mahadev Medical Hall, Chenani run by Pawan Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti,* were sealed by the Drug Control Officer Udhampur for violation of the provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, including the illegal sale of Pregabalin capsules to youth of the area.

*With this action, the total number of medical shops sealed this year has gone up to 14.*

District Police Udhampur has issued a stern warning to all medical establishments to strictly adhere to the regulations concerning the sale of controlled drugs. *BID TO SMUGGLE BOVINES FOILED BY PP NAGRI AT SAIDPUR ; 18 BOVINES RESCUED, DRIVER ARRESTED & SEIZED 01 TRUCK INVOLVED.*


KATHUA; 11 DEC:- In furtherance to tightening noose on bovine smuggling menace, a manhunt was launched by @Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma -IPS* against bovine smuggling, 18 bovines rescued, driver arrested alongwith one truck was seized at Saidpur area of PP Nagri.

On 11.12.2025 police team led by PSI Ravinder Thakur IC PP Nagri under the supervision of *Addl SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS & DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Ravinder Singh* during Naka/Checking at Saidpur noticed one suspicious vehicle (Truck ) bearing Reg. No. PB08BT-9117 which was being driven by a person namely Muzamil S/o Wahid R/o Saharanpur UP who was enrouted from Punjab side towards Jammu was signalled to stop for checking.During checking, the police team was able to rescue 18 bovines from the said vehicle. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 588/2025 U/S 223/BNS, 11 PCA act has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation is going on.Thus overall 18 Bovines were rescued,01 person arrested alongwith 01 vehicle was seized as well.

*J&K POLICE KATHUA ORGANISED THANA DIWAS AT ITS POLICE STATIONS LEVEL*



Kathua; 26 Nov: As a part of the ongoing public outreach programme, “𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮𝘀”, an initiative of the Government of J&K UT to strengthen Police–Public relations and to ensure timely redressal of people’s grievances, was organized today at multiple locations i.e PP Nagri( Goond), PS Rajbagh(Garniyari), PS Basohli(Bhoond), PS Bani(Chandal) & PS Malhar (Badnota) by District Police Kathua.

The programmes were chaired at different venues by senior officers of District Police Kathua viz. *SP Ops Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS, SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch, SHO PS Rajbagh Insp. Ajay Singh Chib attended programme at Garniyari PS Rajbagh area* whereas others including *Addl SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS* alongwith *DySP Hqrs Kathua Sh. Ravinder Singh & IC PP Nagri PSI Ravinder Thakur* attended said programme at Goond area, *SHO PS Basohli Insp. Rajeshwar Singh* attended the program at Bhoond P/S Basohli area and *DySP PC Bani and SHO PS Bani Insp. Surinder Raina* attended the program at (Chandal) PS Bani and DySP PC Malhar alongwith SHO PS Malhar attended the programme at Badnota, PS Malhar respectively.

Prominent civil society members and respectable citizens of the respective areas participated in large numbers and interacted with the police officers.

During the programmes, participants highlighted various local issues and matters of public importance i.e drug peddling and trespassing by particular community,cctv camera installation,traffic management, Creation of VDG's in Goond area etc . The officers assured them that genuine grievances related to policing will be redressed on priority, while issues concerning civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early resolution.

Addressing the gatherings, the officers reiterated that community policing is essential to boost public confidence, which in turn strengthens the fight against crime and social evils. Special emphasis was laid on the menace of drug abuse, with a call for collective responsibility to eradicate this threat from society. Police officers also urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly share information regarding any criminal activity or suspicious movement in their areas.

Speaking on the occasion, it was underlined that policing at the grassroots level will be further strengthened to enhance efficiency, develop public trust, and serve the people with dedication and dignity.

MLA बसोहली ठाकुर दर्शन सिंह जी ने किया मेगा किसान मेला, शीतल नगर भूंड़ का शुभारंभ


बसोहली विधानसभा के माननीय विधायक ठाकुर दर्शन सिंह जी ने आज शीतल नगर, भूंड़ में आयोजित मेगा किसान मेला में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भाग लिया। यह कार्यक्रम कृषि विभाग द्वारा आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें स्थानीय किसानों की बड़ी संख्या ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।

मेले में किसानों को आधुनिक कृषि तकनीकों, नवीनतम योजनाओं एवं उपकरणों के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी प्रदान की गई।
इस अवसर पर विधायक ठाकुर दर्शन सिंह जी ने कहा कि सरकार का मुख्य उद्देश्य किसानों की आय में वृद्धि करना है और इसी दिशा में तिलहन (Oil Seed) फसलों के विस्तार एवं प्रोत्साहन पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि तिलहन उत्पादन बढ़ने से खेती लाभकारी बनेगी और क्षेत्रीय आर्थिक विकास को गति मिलेगी।

कार्यक्रम में कृषि विशेषज्ञों ने विभिन्न फसलों, उर्वरकों, जैविक खेती, और जल संरक्षण तकनीकों पर विस्तृत जानकारियाँ साझा कीं। किसानों ने मेलों में लगाए गए स्टॉलों का अवलोकन कर लाभदायक जानकारी प्राप्त की।

अंत में MLA ठाकुर दर्शन सिंह जी ने कहा कि बसोहली क्षेत्र के किसानों को आधुनिक तकनीकों से जोड़ना उनकी प्राथमिकता है और आगे भी ऐसे कार्यक्रम नियमित रूप से आयोजित किए जाएंगे।

Kathua Admin commemorates 5 Years of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Kathua, November 18: District Administration Kathua today organised events to mark the completion of five years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).

Pertinently, The flagship campaign; Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) originally launched on August 15, 2020, commemorated today nationwide.

At VC Room of DC Office complex, the Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma alongwith officers of different departments participated in a nationwide live broadcast of the commemorative event presided over by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Dr. Virendra Kumar. The session also featured a special message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the national vision and the strides made over the last five years towards eliminating the menace of drugs.

During the event, a pledge-taking ceremony was also conducted wherein Officers present took the solemn pledge to contribute towards building a drug-free society and to support ongoing initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

ACR Kathua Vishav Partap Singh, District Social Welfare Officer Varun Chaudhary, AD FCS&CA, DESO, Tehsildar Headquarters, and Tehsildar Nagri, along with officers from district and sectoral departments were also present.

Similarly, a pledge-taking ceremony was held under the chairmanship of District Development Council Chairman Kathua, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. DDC members and officers present reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the momentum of the campaign initiated in 2020.

Similar awareness programmes, pledge ceremonies, and interactive sessions were also organised across schools, colleges, and private institutions throughout the district, reflecting the pan-India spirit of the 5th-anniversary observation.
