Directing a new project. I was getting some pressure to use a RED or a Sony but I insisted on using my Canon C400. We were using Atlas Anamorphics, I only wish I had the open gate update when we filmed this. Guess I got to rent another set of anamorphics for a YouTube short film to showcase.

One of three shoot days for this project. Here’s a look at a simple scene with Nasir of Starplay. For this I was on the Canon C400 with a 24-105 2.8. Steph was on the C50 which was on a stabilizer.

The Canon C50 is a welcomed addition to my Canon C400. At a third of the size is a better suited option for more nimble shoots. I would argue a battery pack (v mount) is needed as the battery won’t last you long when filming in high codecs and resolutions. And if you put a battery pack on it you might as well throw a monitor on there.
