“Praise Yah — The Lord gave, and the Lord took away.”

Over this last year, I’ve lost so much. The Lord has stripped me down to the bare minimum. I came close to death after suffering a mini-stroke — but by the grace of God, I was fully healed in just a month or two.

I lost my home. I faced the pain of seeing my YouTube channel — something I’ve poured over a decade of my life into — nearly demonetized, taking away my main source of income. I thought I was being punished. I thought God was done with me. I thought my life was over.

But what God recently showed me is that He’s not done with me. He’s strengthening me. He’s shaping me into a warrior — a King.

This morning, my mother-in-law lost her dog, Stella. She asked me to bury her, and I did. I dug the hole because I wanted to give Stella a proper resting place, something simple but meaningful. I found two strong sticks, removed the bark with my pocket knife, and shaped them into a cross. I bound them together with duct tape and wrapped a purple cloth around it, purple for royalty, mourning, and resurrection. Then I placed a small angel figurine at her grave.

It wasn’t just about laying a pet to rest, it was about honoring life, love, and the Creator who gives and takes away. Even in small moments like this, God reminds me that there’s purpose in everything.

Through this season of loss, I’ve learned that the greatest mission God can assign us in this life is a life of service. Serving others brings humility, but it also brings unseen rewards. It breaks us down, but it builds us up into something unshakable.

God wants us all to think like Kings and Queens, not in pride, but in divine purpose. To be royalty in His Kingdom means to walk in wisdom and love. It means to lead by example, to live and, if necessary, to die for His Kingdom. It means knowing when to extend grace, and when to stand firm with righteous anger and justice. It means being faithful stewards of what God has entrusted us with. It means being first in the fight and last to leave the battlefield.

To be a child of God means learning to live without the comforts of this world, because this world is not our home. We are only here to serve, to love, and to reflect His Kingdom to those walking in darkness.

We get our example from the King of Kings.

And if God has stripped you down to nothing in these last days, it’s because He’s preparing you to rise, to step into your role as a King or Queen who can truly serve and walk with the King of Kings.

Rest easy, Stella. You were loved.
And through your resting place, God reminded me that even in loss… He is still good.

You ever had a hater who “used to be openly racist,” but the only person who ever loved them was a Black woman? 💀
Or one who hates you not just ‘cause they’re low-key racist — but ‘cause their wife left ‘em for a Black man, and now they can’t stand being around Black folks, hearing Black music, or watching Black films — but they’ll swear, “I got Black friends… I got a mixed son.” 😒

Meanwhile, they had full Black stepkids they treated different from their mixed one — and wonder why their wife don’t want nothin’ to do with ‘em anymore.

You ever had a hater who forgot how you helped their non-reading, non-writing self when they needed a place to live — but couldn’t even fill out the application without you?

A hater so jealous they lie on your name saying you never kept a job for six months when really, you went from 9-to-5 to being your own boss? 🙌🏿

See, haters like that don’t deserve your energy… but sometimes they talk so reckless you wanna swat ‘em like a fly. 🪰
Still, if you got a hater like that it means you’re doing something right. Their jealousy is just proof you're shining too bright for their dull world.

Day 4:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
— 2 Timothy 2:15
Do I really need to stress the importance of reading, writing, and studying? Many can read, but few truly understand. That’s why so many people struggle to know God—they either refuse to read His Word, or when they do, they don’t comprehend it. They don’t take the time to sit still and let the Holy Spirit teach them.
The Most High YHWH said,
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee… thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
— Hosea 4:6
That truth still stands today. People perish because they reject knowledge and truth. They want salvation without sanctification, grace without discipline, and freedom without obedience. But the Word is our foundation. Without it, we’re like soldiers on the battlefield with no sword.
Tonight I was reading The Warrior Poet Way by John Lovell — a Christian author and founder of the Warrior Poet Society. One line jumped out at me:
“Dangerous men are clever. Dangerous men can think like a bad guy—sometimes, they are the bad guy. As creative problem solvers, even under enormous stress, they understand the fight is a game and the spoils don't always go to the strongest—they go to the smartest. Dangerous men understand not only the value of being in the right place at the right time, but also of doing the right thing at the right time. They can see what's coming before it happens. The most dangerous men, whether they're psychopaths, undercover agents, or genuinely good guys, aren't stupid.”
That hit me hard because it reminded me how spiritually dangerous a true believer should be to the kingdom of darkness.
We’re not called to be passive Christians. We’re called to be clever, discerning, and aware of the enemy’s tactics. Paul said, “We are not ignorant of Satan’s devices.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)
To be a warrior for God means thinking like a strategist—fighting not just with strength, but with wisdom and foresight.
Then I came across another passage where Lovell quoted The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis:
“Aslan is a lion—the Lion, the great Lion.”
“Ooh!” said Susan. “I’d thought he was a man. Is he—quite safe?”
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver. “Who said anything about safe? ’Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
Lovell wrote that Aslan’s strength and wildness represent the perfect image of a true king — not safe, but good. That’s Yeshua. He is merciful, but He’s also mighty. He’s gentle, yet dangerous to darkness. That’s the example we follow — warriors with hearts of poets, bold yet compassionate, strong yet humble.
While the Bible must always be our number one book, the foundation of all wisdom and truth, there’s nothing wrong with studying other works that help us see the bigger picture and strengthen our walk with God. Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
So read your Bible daily. Let it shape your mind and heart. But also, learn from those who’ve walked the warrior path of faith before you — men and women who’ve fought battles, failed, learned, and rose again. If their words point you closer to Christ, then they’re tools in your training.
We are not safe—but we are good, because He is good.
We are not perfect—but we are chosen, because He called us.
Study to show yourself approved. Sharpen your sword.
Be dangerous to darkness and humble before the King. ⚔️
