​"It is narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever a funeral of a person who had debt was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he would ask, 'Has he left anything behind to pay off his debt?' If the people said, 'Yes,' he would lead the funeral prayer. Otherwise, he would say to the Muslims, 'You lead the prayer for your companion.'"
