*WHAT IS THANKSGIVING?* 🙏

It is the outward demonstration and proclamation of our love for God. Thanksgiving brings about wholeness. When you thank God for something, you receive the wholeness of whatever it is.

✨ *WHY DO WE NEED THANKSGIVING?*
Because we cannot hide our love for Jesus.

👑 *TO WHOM ARE WE GIVING THANKS?*
To God our Father of love.

💬 *HOW SHOULD I GIVE MY THANKS?*
It depends on you, so you should say it and show it.

First, affirm it from your heart through your mouth:
"Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving me and for all You've done for me in 2026."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

📌 *FOUR IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT THANKSGIVING:*

1️⃣ 🙏 *THE PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING*
There must be a prayer of thanksgiving coming from your heart. You pray and thank Him. You must talk to Him and express yourself with thanksgiving flowing freely from your heart.

2️⃣ 🎶 *THE WORSHIP AND PRAISE OF THANKSGIVING*

When you praise the Lord from your heart in the beauty of holiness, the result is a divine explosion of glory. Our praises have meaning—they are like incense to Him. Praise is a form of worship, and offering sacrifices of praise produces power. When we praise God, we are positioned where we ought to be.

Sometimes, praising God is not necessarily in a song. It is in the words that you speak. You prepare your words of praise to praise Him—a heart full of appreciation and thanksgiving. Remember, your praise to God must have meaning; it is not just saying "Lord, I praise you." It is an offering of your heart.

3️⃣ 🗣️ *THE TESTIMONY OF THANKSGIVING*
Bear witness to what He has done. Look into your life—don't think about the negative things—because it is about all the big things He has done for you.

Give thanks for the joy in your heart and the peace you've experienced. These are better things than all the physical things we might think about. There is so much more God has done.

Meditate on the foundation of your spirit—the foundation of faith that has given you strength.

What about hope? You know what it is to have hope. There are people who don't have any hope, but you are full of hope. There is hope for the future—so much to be thankful for. If you look into your life this past month, there is so much to thank God for.

4️⃣ 💰 *THE OFFERING OF THANKS*
Give an offering of thanksgiving to the Lord. Say: "I thank You, and I bring this to You. I am giving this special offering of thanks." Thank Him especially in a year like this, where there has been so much to thank Him for.

There is no Thanksgiving without the Thanksgiving offering. Offer thanksgiving to God according to how He has blessed you. The thanksgiving offering is a tangible expression of faith and appreciation, presented in God's house. It carries significant spiritual weight.

🎉 Make your mark today in thanking God especially, and let the whole day be full of joy. When you go home, when you leave the church and go outside, say to yourself: "I'm going to keep thanking God for the whole day. It's Thanksgiving—I'm full of joy, so just give Him praise. Thank God everywhere you go today."

🔴Many people live their lives as though this world is where it all ends, but there’s a life hereafter.

🔴Even if God gave you two hundred years to live in this world, it would still be over someday.

🔴After all, he was given over nine hundred years to live in Bible days, but they still died and left this world.

🔴It doesn’t matter how many years you live on earth, what matters is whether or not you lived for the Lord, glorifying Him with your life.

🔴The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

🔴If all you do with your years on earth is to seek to make yourself happy and fulfil your own dreams, that’ll be an empty life.

🔴When we all stand before the Lord at the end, when He judges all things, His only concern would be what you did with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

🔴He’d only be interested in how you lived the Word, fulfilling and expressing His righteousness. So, it’s about the life hereafter.

🔴Jesus asked the thought-provoking question in our opening verse: “…what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”

🔴If a man had all the fame and glamour in the world, and lived and died without Christ, what would that be, compared to the anguish of living eternally in hell?

🔴We must therefore continue to preach the Gospel and teach men, women, young people, and children in our world and in the regions beyond that life on earth is short; eternity is all that matters.

🔴This is time to serve the Lord with wholehearted devotion, and make Him your number one focus, is now.

🌟 *Praying the Right Way – Book Review #5 (Chapter 4)* 🌟

📖 *Day 5 – Wednesday, July 8, 2026*

*Chapter 4: The 'Real' Lord's Prayer*

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

In Chapter 4 of *Praying the Right Way*, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome addresses one of the most widely recited prayers in Christendom: what is commonly called *"The Lord's Prayer"* (Matthew 6:9-13). But as he reveals, *that prayer is not for the New Testament believer.*

This chapter is not meant to be offensive — it is meant to be *truthful*. Many Christians recite this prayer daily, believing it is the prayer Jesus taught us to pray. But a careful study of Scripture shows that the prayer in Matthew 6 was given *before* the New Covenant came into effect. Jesus had not yet died, His Name had not yet been given all authority, and the Kingdom had not yet come.

Today, we live under a *new will* — a New Testament — brought into force by the death of Jesus (Hebrews 9:16-17). And that changes how we pray.

*🎯 Key Insights from Chapter 4*

🔹 *The prayer in Matthew 6 is a pattern, not a prayer to be recited.* — Jesus said, *"After this manner therefore pray ye"* — meaning He was giving a guideline, not a script to memorise.

🔹 *The Kingdom has already come.* — Colossians 1:13 says we have been *translated into the Kingdom of His dear Son*. So we no longer pray, *"Thy Kingdom come"* — it has already come!

🔹 *Our daily bread is already given.* — We are not beggars pleading for provision. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says *"all things are yours."* We own the earth with Christ.

🔹 *Forgiveness is not preconditioned on your forgiving others.* — In the New Testament, you forgive because you have the nature of the Father — not to earn His forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 says we forgive *even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us.*

🔹 *We have already been delivered from the evil one.* — Colossians 1:13 says we have been delivered from the power of darkness. We don't ask to be delivered — we *declare* our deliverance and enforce it in Jesus' Name.

🔹 *Have I been trying to earn forgiveness by forgiving others, rather than forgiving because I am already forgiven?*

Make this declaration:

> *"I no longer pray Old Testament prayers. I live in the New Testament, under the New Covenant. I pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus with boldness and authority."*

*🛐 Prayer for Right Understanding*

*Father, I thank You for the New Covenant. Thank You that Your Kingdom has already come. Thank You that all things are mine in Christ. Thank You that I have already been delivered from the evil one. Teach me to pray with New Testament understanding, in Jesus' Name. Amen.* 🙌

*FAITH'S PROCLAMATIONS OF HEALING AND HEALTH*

Divine life is at work in me and that life is activated in every fiber of my being. I am the expression of the glory and dominion of Christ. I live a higher life above infirmity and diseases, and I enjoy divine health realities daily. Glory to God!

I am strong and healthy. I refuse to be sick. My body is full of radiant health and vitality. Sickness has no hold on my life. The body of Jesus was bruised and broken for me; therefore, I refuse to be broken by any infirmity.

Jesus bore my infirmities on His body, thus securing my health forever. I reject sickness, disease, and all the works of darkness and embrace the victorious and glorious life. I have passed from death to life, sin to righteousness, and sickness to health!

I radiate God’s glory with health, success, prosperity, and excellence. I exercise authority over my body. I’ve got the life of God in me. My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and no sickness, disease, or infirmity can develop here. I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.

🔹 *The Name of Jesus is a blank cheque.* — It has been given to you fully endorsed with your name. You can fill in anything — divine health, provision, wisdom, deliverance — and the Father's bank is more than enough.

🔹 *There is a difference between asking and declaring.* — John 14:13-14 is about *declaring and establishing* things in His Name. John 16:23-24 is about *asking the Father* in His Name. Both are powerful, but they are used differently.

🔹 *Faith is already in you.* — Romans 12:3 says God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. You don't need to conjure up faith to use the Name of Jesus — you already have it. You just need to exercise it.
