Between 12 and 18 September 1993, Russia hosted the major international star for the first time in its history. The concert was announced with unprecedented fanfare, but the organization was chaotic and the press not very inclined to cover the arrival of the Michael Jackson phenomenon. Despite all evidence to the contrary, he was perceived as a complete unknown. In the fall of 1993, the weather was gray and gloomy in a Russia that was undergoing immense social and political change. The country rejoiced and fretted in equal measure about the arrival on its soil of the first Western megastar. The lyrics of Stranger in Moscow echo this sentiment: “Here abandoned in my fame / Armageddon of the brain / KGB was doggin’ me / Take my name and just let me be.” All of Michael’s movements were planned down to the last detail and he was accompanied everywhere. The forces of law and order were overwhelmed. Never before had so many people gathered in front of the Hotel Metropol in Moscow.

In the few days leading up to his concert in the Russian capital, the singer visited orphanages and participated in military processions. On 15 September 1993, he gave his performance in the pouring rain at Loujniki Stadium, which was full only because numerous free tickets had been distributed. The King of Pop was both astonished and delighted by the warmth of the reception that he got from his Russian fans, who until then had been surreptitiously swapping his albums among themselves. This unique experience produced a song on which Jackson’s melancholy is more apparent than on any of his other numbers. It is also pervaded by a sense of deep sadness that had never before been expressed. For the second time on the album, Michael Jackson uses the first person, revealing much of his personal and private feelings. Stranger in Moscow is heartrending. This highly emotional song invites the listener into the artist’s intimate thoughts. It is an autobiographical track, and one of the clearest messages Michael Jackson ever gave.



Production: Stranger in Moscow is also an act of resilience, with its rich and dazzling tonalities lifting the music above the general pathos of the lyrics. It is a rough diamond that Brad Buxer polished with his digital instruments.
Stranger in Moscow was the first song to be prepared for the HIStory album, and was developed in several Los Angeles studios once Jackson returned to the States. However, it was in New York at the Sony Music Studios and the Hit Factory that it gradually took shape. Stranger in Moscow begins with the sound of pouring rain, placing the listener directly in the nostalgic atmosphere of the theme. Then comes a plaintive and haunting rhythm that surprises with its unusual cadence. It was built on the singer’s beatboxing that was then put through a compression filter to produce its own instrumental sound. The digital sounds of the strings played by Brad Buxer rise with the music and gradually merge into the narrative. The musical structure is simple and unique. It works perfectly with the despondent feel of the song and varies very little, giving a constant, sometimes agonizing, and melancholic feel to the piece

"My first girlfriend, Tatum O'Neal, she'd won the Academy Award for Paper Moon, I was 16, she was 13. And was I naiive. She wanted to do everything and I didn't want to have sex at all, because there were a lot of values associated with being a Jehovah's Witness. I said, "Are you crazy?" One of those (values) was to be kind to everyone. When I held Tatum's hand it was just so magic, better than anything, kissing her, anything. Her, Ryan O'Neal, and myself went to this club and were watching a band and underneath the table she was holding my hand and I was melting. It was magical. There was fireworks going on. It was all I needed. But that means nothing to kids today."



MJ and Tatum O'Neal - One of the photo is from one of the "wild nights" Tatum says she shared with Michael Jackson. "We were going to a Kool and the Gang concert, but Michael didn't want to be recognized," Tatum said. "He had a special effects guy help him. We had a great night. No one recognized us, but some people gave us funny looks because he looked so much older than me. Michael loved it. He thought it was so funny. Rick created this beard and did some work on Michael's lips. He also gave him some makeup to make his skin darker." The next day, she claimed, they partied at the Playboy Mansion and shared a bath in the tub in their swimsuits.

This is a video about Michael Jackson and Slash Collaboration.



Saul Hudson (born July 23, 1965), better known by his stage name Slash, is a British-American musician, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist, best known as the lead guitarist of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses. Slash has received critical acclaim and is considered to be one of the greatest guitarists in history

Slash collaborated with Michael Jackson on numerous occasions, starting with Dangerous. According to his recent conversation, Slash got a phone call from Jackson’s manager one day, who said that Michael has been trying to get in touch with him for a while now.



Following their conversation, Slash went down to the Record Plant in Hollywood in order to play on his track. He walked in and found Michael and Brooke Shields hanging out. They chatted for a couple of minutes which was surreal for Slash who just met two of his icons at the same time. The pair went out to dinner and Slash stayed in the studio to record his part.



Slash’s first appearance was on the single “Give In to Me”, which was the 7th single from Dangerous. Jackson was very happy with his work and they worked together multiple times throughout the years. The GN’R guitarist also played Jackson’s latest studio album Invincible which was released in 2001, and they shared the same stage on the 30th Anniversary Celebration concert for the last time ever.



In his latest interview, Slash was asked whether it was hard to work with a legend like Michael Jackson and the details of their collaboration. Slash shared the story mentioned above and stated that it was fun to work with him because he was such a professional musician.



Here is what Slash said in the interview:

“Initially, it was a phone call from my manager where he said, ​’Michael is trying to get in touch with you,’ and I was like, ‘Wow.’ So I called him back and he wanted me to play on ‘Dangerous.’ We made a date and I went down to the Record Plant in Hollywood and he was there with Brooke Shields. That was very surreal.



These were two people that I’d sort of grown up with, in a way. So we hung out for two minutes and they went off to dinner and left me with this song. I did my thing, he really dug it and afterward, he kept asking me if I’d be into doing this or doing that.



I’d do some shows here and there and it was fun because he was such a pro, and he was such a fucking talent from on high. That was the main thing: he was so amazingly musically fluid. Such a treat to be around.”

Out of curiosity, I’ve searched for the girl who went on stage with Michael in ’92 (Dangerous tour Bucharest). It turns out that the girl is a different one than what is presented on the official Dangerous concert recording and…what I found out kind of saddened me.


I translated the interview and you’ll see why:



Back in ’92, C.P. was a 16-year-old girl, madly in love with the American superstar. Now she’s married and the mother of a 10-year-old son.

"Who Is It" is a song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released by Epic Records on August 31, 1992 in the UK, and March 29, 1993 in the US, as the fifth single from Jackson's eighth studio album, Dangerous (1991).
The song was written and composed by Jackson, and produced by Jackson and Bill Bottrell. The song's lyrics pertain to despair over being left by someone you love; some critics noted a comparison to the lyrics of the song to Jackson's single "Billie Jean" from the album Thriller.
As part of the promotion for the song, two music videos were released in 1992. The song was not performed by Jackson on any of his world concert tours. He did, however, perform a small segment of the song in his interview with Oprah Winfrey in early 1993.

The seventh of the nine short films for the album Dangerous was entrusted to the skilled director David Fincher, after he had finished shooting the movie Alien 3 and before he made the fabulous Seven and Fight Club.
Together, they were to create the most photographically striking and mysterious short film in the career of the Michael Jackson. The director did not want to show Michael in his glittering outfits. In the video his clothing is sober, and only his pants, slightly short and allowing a glimpse of his socks, could be said to be faintly reminiscent of the artist’s usual dress code. Neither was there any question of his seducing the camera with his devastatingly effective dance steps or other gimmicks: he was to be manly, a dandy, and highly respectable.

The single was released in the United States in March 1993, without a video broadcast on TV. Like Billie Jean and Bad, Who Is It was used for a Pepsi advertising campaign. The video Dreams was shot on 13 May 1992 by Joe Pykta. In a graphic setting that resembles the scenery on the sleeve of Dangerous, Michael Jackson pursues the gorgeous Vanessa Sandin from the Elite agency and performs a few dance steps. Unlike other advertising songs, Michael did not sing the lyrics ringing the praises of the drinks brand.

Originally destined for the “best of” project Decade, Who Is It is one of the gems on Dangerous, in which Michael Jackson sings of unhappiness in love. The song acted as an echo of Billie Jean and Dirty Diana, and the King of Pop revealed himself with unprecedented maturity and selflessness. The song’s theme is loaded with unusual mystery, with a darkness and resignation that cannot be expressed unless they have been experienced personally.
The song was written in 1990 in collaboration with the producer Bill Bottrell, who had witnessed Michael Jackson’s most intimate emotions. No song since Be Not Always had displayed so much palpable suffering. According to his former producer Quincy Jones, the singer, without a doubt, intended this song to be a release in which he would open his soul and his heart, turning to his audience as his confidant.
Production
An army of keyboard players features in Who Is It, accompanying the song’s resigned tone. A myriad of skillfully mixed sounds materialize and burst forth, sometimes disconcerting or troubling the listener.

In March 1993, when Give in to Me was destined to be a new single for the US market, its short film was given an exclusive screening during the TV show Michael Jackson shared with Oprah Winfrey. On that occasion, the singer performed Who Is It with some beatboxing which was so incredible that the record label canceled the release of Give in to Me and replaced it with Who Is It.
The exclusive version from this a cappella performance goes by the title The Oprah Winfrey Special Intro. The single did not take the world’s charts by storm, nor did it leave a mark in the collective unconscious, but it nevertheless retains a very special place in the hearts of the singer’s admirers.

The seventh of the nine short films for the album Dangerous was entrusted to the skilled director David Fincher, after he had finished shooting the movie Alien 3 and before he made the fabulous Seven and Fight Club.
Together, they were to create the most photographically striking and mysterious short film in the career of the Michael Jackson. The director did not want to show Michael in his glittering outfits. In the video his clothing is sober, and only his pants, slightly short and allowing a glimpse of his socks, could be said to be faintly reminiscent of the artist’s usual dress code. Neither was there any question of his seducing the camera with his devastatingly effective dance steps or other gimmicks: he was to be manly, a dandy, and highly respectable.

This is the first part af the playlist: Michael Jackson and Aaron Carter Friendship.

Michael Jackson and Aaron Carter were close friends.
In this short Aaron Carter remembers when Michael Jackson gave him his famous swarosky crystal jacket!
The second section is about the "food fight" Michael and Aaron made on 45 Michael Jackson Birthday Party, and the final part is about the MJ and Aaron collaboration in the song What More Can I Give.

The singer went on to detail his own relationship with Jackson, which started when he was 15. For context, Aaron first came into the public eye aged nine, when his self-titled debut album sold a million copes worldwide. He continued:

"I remember having the time of my life with Michael, I was about 15 years old. I hung out with Michael Jackson, I stayed at his house, I stayed in his bedroom ... it's hard for me to understand that - how am I supposed to understand that when my own personal experience with him was gentle and beautiful and loving and embracing."

Aaron told People in 2004 that he and Jackson had been friends since 2001, and that Jackson never behaved inappropriately with him.

"Nothing happened between me and Michael," he said at the time. "We didn’t sleep in the same room, we didn’t share a bed. We have a normal friendship. There’s nothing sexual to it."

Aaron Carter, who is also the younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, reacted to the accusations against MJ to assure that he is a good guy.

During an interview on WE TV, he said, "Michael was a really good guy, as far as I know, a really good guy. He never did anything that was inappropriate." However, he quickly added that there was one time when MJ was a little inappropriate with him.

"Except for one time. There was one thing that he did that was a little bit inappropriate," he said. Aaron chose to not delve into it.

Later, a slew of Jackson fans took to Twitter demanding the "little bit inappropriate" thing that the international singer did. The social media was flooded with "tell the truth" comments.

Aaron chose to maintain secrecy. He took to Twitter to write, "everyone having my back I appreciate you. My reasoning for even speaking on this subject is to tell my truth, be real and to also have his back based on my experiences with Michael. He was an amazing guy, I stand by that. So I ask u not to turn this into something it isn’t."
