I'm Michael Beverly, a mind prison escapee. Join me to talk about escaping carousels created by others. I believe we humans should seek truth, even when it's in muddy waters. Be suspicious of absolute truth claims. Be willing to investigate, study, reason, use Bayes' Theorem, and to ask yourself Socratic Questions.
I'm a former fundie, once a young earth creationist, and I spent time doing prayer in the streets, missions, and speaking in tongues, among other strange things. If you've been harmed by religion, are questioning your world view, think perhaps you're in the wrong church or the wrong religion, please follow my channel and feel free to comment, question, or challenge me.

Every Christian like @ExploringReality needs to watch this over and over and over until they get it.
This is what religion does, is, and will be: A SCAM.

Proof Christians will believe nonsense to justify their nonsense. You couldn't make this up fictionally, nobody would believe it because it's SO STUPID.
Yes, Christians, you have to turn off your brains to believe.

If you haven't realized how freaking smart I was leaving American in 2017....I can't help. But, don't think for a second your safe unless you're a white wealthy Christian male.
I'm safer living in a narco-state. WAY SAFER.

If you only got a few minutes, start about minute 14. No tears for fascists, folks. White Nationalism will use your empathy against you.

Talked to a major in JAG yesterday....America has officially entered the Twilight Zone. When Trump has renamed the Department of Defense to the Department of War and brags about murdering civilians, it might be time to wake up.
But, you know, Christians, by and large, love war and death so I don't suppose this is gonna change anytime soon.

Mike Jones a year after deconstruction (and psychedelics). @InspiringPhilosophy the real question is are you really this naive or does being a Christian just pay so well you cannot come clean?

Hey friends! Please consider giving Jamin a sub, he's building a new channel, and I super know how hard this is to do.
He's a great person and looks to me like he's really got some good guests lined up.
I've read his book, he's the real deal.

My new office. I've finally put away the Shure and the Canon...
Subscribers, friends, guests, it was a good run but I had to make some difficult decisions in the last couple of months. Writing novels is paying bills and YouTube was a money (and time) sink. I couldn't handle both creative things AND be present to raise my son as I want to be.
I do think I was doing important work.
I was going to make a video explaining my decisions and pontificating on some observations (Christians lie and can't be reasoned with being the most obvious thing I've learned here) but I couldn't find the heart to do it.
Stephen is a joy and I'll try to post some updates as he grows.
I'm (potentially) partnering with an established author to publish a military sci-fi series, if this deal comes to fruition, I'll probably make a video about it. Meanwhile, I have a ghost writing project that will open the door for more work, so in all cases, I had to decide between video production or writing fiction.
I've made some great friends here on YouTube and I don't regret my time working to build my channel.
I was a bit disappointed with my growth (to be transparent) and while I enjoyed the work, putting in 40-60 hours a week on YT stuff with very little return, when I could be producing novels for decent pay, wasn't fair to my family.
As I type these words, Stephen is playing -- the picture here is one I took just minutes ago. He just looked up at me and smiled. He melts my heart every day.
I have come to realize that the Christian God is a terrible and evil father -- and I mean in his fictional representation -- as this god clearly is a fiction. For those that worship such a beast, I wish they'd see how worshipping this monster makes them bad people. A group of evil misanthropes.
@nononsensespirituality did a video the other day: https://youtu.be/jZ7HNPihkBk?si=dvsmZ...
This explains it all --- if you listen to this, and take it to heart, you cannot remain a Christian.
She makes a point that I made with a Christian apologist (in a 5 hour live stream) way back when I was just starting to do interviews -- something Dr. Kipp picked up on. It's this:
If the Christian God (as each Christian imagines) requires such insane levels of studying, books, theories, scholars, and specialized knowledge to truly know, then that god is evil. Period.
Since each Christian thinks they're special and has the "right knowledge" they're just proving how arrogant and evil they are (think Mike and Than talking down to everyone or the contrast between Licona and McGrew). If understanding your god takes that much knowledge and study, then he is effectively cut off from the bulk of humanity. Thus an evil dad.
A gross dad.
A dad that should be shunned and not worshipped.
If you worship this exclusive god who requires such intense study and access to the most "modern" apologist's books (as Mike and Than argued recently, talking about a famous guy's deconstruction) then you're a bigot. Pure and simple.
A good person, as I am, would reject such a monster because, being a dad, I understand what love for a child is like, as imperfect as I am.
I'm infinitely better than Jesus/Yahweh at being a father--I show up, every freaking day, and never ever fail to respond to the cries, complaints, or babblings of my son. NEVER.
The sacrifice I've made and continue to make, devoting my life to his welfare, is way more intense that the puny sacrifice the weak-sauce Jesus did as he copied many dying-rising gods before him. Dying for a few days is pathetic compared to actually living EVERY F'ng day for a helpless baby. How many diapers did Jesus change? How many midnight feedings? Hell, if Jesus wanted to show he loved humanity, he should have come to earth as a woman and given birth. That's sacrifice, friends, at least it is when done with the child's welfare put first.
I disagree with those who respect Jesus as a man/teacher/etc., nope, even as a non-god, Jesus was a evil nationalistic racist bigot who did nothing good for anyone. He should be rejected, hated, and his followers mocked.
Well, friends, thanks for the support and good times.
I'll be around lurking, I'm sure...
Cheers,
Michael

This insane lying gas-lighting evil bigot has blocked me so I cannot comment on this video like this: hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhha
Melissa actually thinks she's a "critical thinker" and that people who "fall for cults" are not using "critical thinking."
People, you cannot make this sh*t up.
NOTE: Alisa's faith was saved by J. Warner Wallace's book Cold Case, which even conservative Christian scholars mock as total rubbish.
So you've got brain-dead idiots pretending that believing a former cop has proved the resurrection is "intellectual."
No, seriously, you couldn't invent this level of idiocy if you tried.
Remember, Melissa converted in 24 hours at 17 years old. As a teenager, she "knew" the "Truth."
