The Medium Panzer Company 1941 - 1945 regulations applied to the Panzer III, Panzer IV medium tank, and Panzer V Panther tank, and Panzer VI Tiger Tank. These were the fundamental armor tactics used by German tank forces from Blitzkrieg years Operation Barbarossa 1941 on the Eastern Front to Normandy 1944, the Battle of the Bulge up to the final Battle of Berlin. General Heinz Guderian, inspector of the Panzertruppen maintained this doctrine until the end of WW2. Even the Tiger Tank and King Tiger used these regulations and were encouraged to do so by the Panzer troops.

This video is about the battle of Lembitu, March 17- 23rd 1944 which resulted in a claimed 38 Soviet tanks and 17 artillery pieces knocked out.

The German success in the counterattacks and positional warfare that followed forced the Soviets in that 1 KM sector to call off their offensive against the Narva supply lines. The Germans would hold the area until September 1944.



Otto Carius was part of 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion's deployment of Tiger tanks to defend the village of Lembitu, west of Narva in February 1944 against the Soviet Red Army on the Eastern Front. In these defensive battles against massed T-34 assaults, the Tiger tanks emerged victorious despite the extreme odds against them and the weak remnants of German infantry. For this, Otto Carius was awarded the Knight's Cross.

Tank battles of Tiger Tank ace Otto Carius Memoir Tigers in the Mud was adapted into a manga by Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibi.

Miyazaki's manga focuses on the 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion's deployment of Tiger tanks to defend the village of Lembitu, west of Narva in February 1944 against the Soviet Red Army on the Eastern Front. In these defensive battles against massed T-34 assaults, the Tiger tanks emerged victorious despite the extreme odds against them and the weak remnants of Wehrmacht infantry.

My new video is about the 1943 - 1944 Tiger tank combat tactics of Panzer Ace Otto Carius on the Eastern Front primarily against the T-34 in WW2.

The Tiger tank strength was in very long range tank engagements and the deployment of the surprise flank counterattack. These tactics were used in the Battle of Kursk, IS-2 duels and engagements with the King Tiger in 1945 in the East.
