"Lay your head on my shoulder, rest and regain your strength. I am with you." - Diary 498 (DIVINE MERCY) [Jesus to St. Faustina of Kowalska]
On October 18, 1961 the children placed in writing the message Mary gave them: “We must make many sacrifices, do much penance. We must visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently; but first, we must be good and unless we do this, a punishment will befall us. The Cup is already filling and unless we change, a very great punishment will befall us.” - The Messages of Our Lady at Garabandal to the children.

POWER OF PRAYER
St. Maximilian Kolbe, born Raymund Kolbe on January 8, 1894, in Poland, was a dedicated Conventual Franciscan friar who became a martyr in Auschwitz during World War II. Deeply devoted to the Virgin Mary, Kolbe had a life-changing vision at twelve, where Mary entrusted him with two crowns symbolizing purity and martyrdom, which he willingly accepted.
In 1910, he joined the Franciscan order, adopting the name Maximilian, and was ordained as a priest in 1918. A highly educated priest, Kolbe earned doctorates in both philosophy and theology.
He founded the Militia Immaculata to encourage the conversion of sinners and to oppose Freemasonry through Mary's mediation. He also launched the 'Rycerz Niepokalanej' (Knight of the Immaculate) magazine and established a prominent religious publishing house at the Niepokalanow monastery, extending his mission to countries like Japan and India.
During the German invasion in WWII, Kolbe provided shelter to refugees, including around 2,000 Jews, and refused to accept German citizenship. In 1941, he was arrested and sent to Auschwitz, where he showed incredible selflessness by volunteering to die by starvation in place of a man who had a family. Throughout his imprisonment, Kolbe led prayers to Mary and maintained his peace until he was executed by lethal injection on August 14.
For his extraordinary sacrifice, Kolbe was beatified in 1971 and canonized as a saint in 1982 by Pope John Paul II. He is honored as a martyr and serves as the patron saint of drug addicts, prisoners, families, and the pro-life movement. His feast day is celebrated every year on August 14.

Saint Hippolytus - Feast: 13th August
St. Hippolytus was a prominent martyr from Rome, known for his tumultuous journey and eventual redemption. Initially, he was in conflict with the Church, openly criticizing Pope St. Callistus I and being appointed as an antipope-a rare event in church history. His opposition led to his exile to Sardinia.
Despite his early disagreements, St. Hippolytus reconciled with the Church before ultimately sacrificing his life for his faith, solidifying his legacy as a martyr. He made significant intellectual contributions, authoring important works like "A Refutation of All Heresies," "Song of Songs," and "The Apostolic Tradition," which highlight his theological depth.
St. Hippolytus faced martyrdom alongside fellow believers such as Concordia. His transformation from opposition to unity with the Church, along with his lasting scholarly impact, illustrates the powerful potential for personal change and the enduring strength of faith.
A heavenly light more brilliant than all others sheds its radiance everywhere, and he who was begotten before the morning star and all the stars of heaven, Christ, mighty and immortal, shines upon all creatures more brightly than the sun.
- St. Hippolytus of Rome
Fly to the Catholic Church! Adhere to the only faith which continues to exist from the beginning, that faith which was preached by Paul and is upheld by the Chair of Peter.

POWER OF PRAYER
St. Clare of Assisi, born Chiara Offreduccio on July 16, 1194, was the noble daughter of Count Favorino Sciffi and his devout wife Ortolana. At the age of 18, inspired by the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi, Clare chose to leave her wealthy life to pursue a life of devotion.
On Palm Sunday in 1212, she exchanged her fine attire for a simple robe and veil, becoming a member of the Benedictine convent of San Paolo. Despite her father's efforts to bring her back, Clare committed herself to a spiritual marriage with Jesus Christ. St. Francis later relocated Clare and her sister Agnes to Sant' Angelo in Panzo to provide them with greater solitude.
This led to the establishment of the 'Poor Ladies of San Damiano,' an order dedicated to living in austerity and poverty. In 1216, Clare became the abbess of San Damiano, leading the community with a firm commitment to their humble way of life.
As abbess, Clare was steadfast in defending her community's principles against pressures from the ecclesiastical authorities. Her unwavering dedication to both St. Francis and the order's strict vows of poverty earned her widespread respect. One of her most notable acts of faith was confronting soldiers sent by Frederick II, holding the Blessed Sacrament and trusting in divine protection for her convent.
In her later years, Clare faced illness, but her faith remained strong until her death on August 11, 1253. Shortly before her passing, Pope Innocent IV approved her leadership for the Order of Poor Ladies, which was later renamed the Order of Saint Clare. She was canonized in 1255, and her remains are kept at the Basilica of Saint Clare in Assisi.
In 1958, Pope Pius XII declared her the patroness of television. Additionally, St. Clare is regarded as the protector of those suffering from eye diseases, goldsmiths, and laundry workers. Her enduring legacy is symbolized by the monstrance or pyx, representing her courageous defense of her sisters. St. Clare's feast day is celebrated annually on August 11, continuing to inspire the faithful around the world.

POWER OF PRAYER
St. Lawrence served as a deacon in Rome around 258 A.D. and is celebrated for his incredible generosity and ultimate martyrdom. During a time of increasing persecution against Christians, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the early Church, showing Christ's love by assisting the poor.
When Emperor Valerian issued a decree to execute all Christian leaders, Lawrence courageously responded by distributing the Church's wealth to Rome's needy, defying the common belief that wealth equals importance. Valerian then demanded that Lawrence hand over the Church's treasures. Instead, Lawrence presented the city's poor, declaring them the true treasures of the Church.
Enraged by this act, Valerian ordered that Lawrence be burned alive. Despite facing death, Lawrence maintained a brave and joyful spirit, inspiring many to convert and deeply influencing the Christian community.
St. Lawrence's legacy goes beyond his martyrdom; it embodies a life of selfless service and reflects Christ's redeeming love. His story, honored by early Christians and St. Augustine, encourages everyone to passionately live out the Gospel, regardless of their circumstances.
His martyrdom marked a turning point in Rome, leading Emperor Constantine to build a basilica over his burial site. The devotion of St. Lawrence spread widely, and his life remains a powerful testament to the enduring strength of faith and charity. Saint Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr, pray for us.
