As I was taking this picture at Oshkosh, I noticed pilot-YouTuber @steveo1kinevo! I said hello and we exchanged pleasantries. Give him a follow if you haven't!
Great news DCS Hornet pilots. As of today's Open Beta release 2.7.12.23362 on 28 April 2022, this TOO method- rippling 8 JDAMs- now works with the LITENING and ATFLIR pods. The only change is you NEED to press TDC Depress on each target to send the coordinates. DISREGARD the comment at 7:23. And you don't need to undesignate.
Again, you will NEED to press TDC DEPRESS on each target to designate each target. Everything else remains the same.
Hey X-Plane pilots. I had an opportunity to check out @airfoillabs3927 latest release, the Cessna 172NG Digital. I logged around 500 hours in this airplane as a student and flight instructor (many moons ago) so it was fun to hop back in and "fly" it again. AirfoilLabs has created a fantastic model with complete systems functionality, real time electrical and engine diagrams, dedicated systems failure scenarios, and a comprehensive menu system. If you're looking for a complete package general aviation trainer, this is it!
Hey everyone. If you've been on the fence about trying DCS World, NOW is the time to check it out. Eagle Dynamics just announced a new FREE to play program. : "You can play each module sequentially for 14 days or any number of them at a time. Once you have ‘consumed’ the 14 days, you will be given another 14 day free trial period for all modules six months later."
Currently, there are 32 fixed wing airplanes and 4 helicopters to fly, ranging from World War II to Cold War era to Modern Jet. The Hind, Apache and Kiowa helicopters are also coming to DCS. Check out Eagle Dynamics' promo video as well.
Hey X-Plane King Air 350 pilots. Update 1.5 is out so be sure to run the updater.
After posting my tutorial videos, AirfoilLabs contacted me asking for feedback and testing. I was certainly more than happy to help out. I was involved in many of those "little details" fixes like the Bleed Fail, electrical, surface de-ice, and co-pilot callouts. One update you'll notice (that was not in the notes) is the turbine speed during engine start. 0 to 12 % is now faster (realistic) than 1.4. Enjoy the update and safe flying.
ICYMI, Eagle Dynamics just released a fantastic video showcasing upcoming content in 2021 and beyond- atmospheric upgrades, Mi-24 Hind, the de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito, and teasing/confirming a highly desired Western attack helicopter.
1) I received my Reverb G2 VR last month, but it had overheating issues. Sent it back to HP. Unfortunately, there is no definitive timeline to repair and/or replace it. Major disappointment. Aside from the overheating, it is a fantastic VR headset with awesome clarity. I was planning to create some videos, but that likely won't happen. I still have my Reverb Pro (G1) so things could be worse.
2) I recently picked up the Airfoils King Air 350 for X-Plane 11. This is an awesome study level aircraft for XP and keeps a K350 pilot like myself tied over as our flight department is rarely flying these days. I plan to create some tutorials and get back on VATSIM for some live streaming.
3) I received the Honeycomb Throttle a couple weeks ago to compliment the Alpha yoke. Now I have a proper civilian flight sim setup. This will go hand-in-hand with the K350 add-on as well as the other aircraft I fly like the Concorde and B767.
4) It's been a while since my last live stream on Twitch. "Reality"... "Adulting" have taken priority lately. But I'm planning to get back into that with DCS and X-Plane. Perhaps I'll start dual live streaming on Twitch and YouTube.
5) Real life flying videos? I've been on medical leave (injury) during the last few months. I'm on track to get back at it next month. But who knows what 2021 will bring. :)

DCS: Normandy 2.0 is out @EagleDynamicsTV . I'm guessing we will be seeing a lot of action around the Eiffel Tower.

At the end of the video, coordinates are flashed...

And what appears to be an F-4 Phantom gunsight. 🤯
Happy Holidays everyone!
