Happy holidays, Foster fans! I have prepared a Christmas gift for you all! 🎄 Over the span of the last two months, I have transcribed 69 privated SoundCloud songs that Foster scrubbed off the internet when he signed to a label. I know so many of y'all have asked me about his deleted songs, and I finally delivered. In the linked playlist is a YouTube copy of every song I have access to, and every description will have lyrics and some will even have instrumentals. I have a longer message below, detailing the context and hard work I put in, but if you don't want to read that, PLEASE at least pre-save Foster's upcoming single, "Hopeless Romantic" before you go listening to his older music <3 You can send a photo of your presave in the Discord to redeem a cool, exclusive role! ☕

LONGER MESSAGE: I've been sitting on this for like six months. On his birthday, Foster DM'd me a link to a private SoundCloud playlist, saying "go crazy, go stupid". Immediately after expressing my immense gratitude and discussing that SoundCloud is stupid with adding songs to playlists one-by-one so Foster probably missed one or two songs (he did, but I'll bother him for them later 🤣), I had to go run errands. I decided to let the playlist soundtrack our ride, and I ended up in the hood, at dusk (don't ask 💀), listening to a teenage/young adult Foster rap like G-Eazy and Mac Miller, a far cry from the lofi hip hop I was accustomed to. It was like chewing on a new dessert, an acquired but welcome taste. I was touched by introspective jams like "Finally Over" and boppin' along to the chorus of "Blow Up", eventually rapping along and getting hyped. I thought I knew everything about Foster, but now I seeing a totally new face, and it sounded awesome.

One of my biggest struggles within myself is I'm too indecisive to start tasks and projects, then I feel bad for not doing it, and then it just cycles. On October 13, after many months, I forced myself to say "eh fuck it, I'll download the song from the SoundCloud playlist, put it in Premier Pro, transcribe the song, and then upload a copy to YouTube in a unique playlist. And aim for the incredibly easy goal of one song a week, rather than the difficult one song a day." I set myself up for success, and I saw results. I realized that hey, maybe i COULD do a song a day, and I tried to stick to it. I would chuck on my headphones, slow down the mp3 by 90%, and make my fingers dance across the keyboard at least once a day, uploading the video to YouTube and setting it to premiere at midnight. I would always take the time to try to find the instrumental, oftentimes sifting through hundreds of videos from years ago, deep on some producer's channel, just to find the right video (Not to mention fighting off copyright claims because someone else had used the same damn instrumental 🙄). Some days I would have the energy to transcribe multiple songs a day, particularly when I knew I would be partying on the weekend or something like that, just setting the videos to premiere at midnight for the next couple days.

I developed a taste for old Foster music, and oftentimes I was quite astounded at the bars he was spittin'. I used to chuckle when Foster would recount how delusional he was early in his career, but now I will die on the hill that THAT MF HAD EVERY RIGHT TO BE AS DELUSIONAL AS HE WAS 🗣🔊🔥💯 Colin Foster Taylor was spitting hot fire, and had all the makings of an artist that should sell out Bridgestone Arena, with hallmark songs that would get the crowd hyped and interact. It was extremely easy for me to trace the steps his artistry took, with a handful of his older songs making me draw similarities with his hit song "Fools", Foster's big break that we all know and love him for.

Eventually, I realized that 🎅Christmas✨ was coming up soon, and I had the idea of making this a Christmas gift for Foster and the Sters. I counted out the remaining songs and realized that I *HAD* to transcribe one song a day to end right on the 24th of December. For the last month or so, I've been a MACHINE. I hadn't transcribed this many songs by ear since quarantine, let alone at least one per day. It all culminated on December 12, a very bad day for me because I realized I had lost my favorite hat, and unfortunately, it was not in the Mac Miller-esque way I had always dreamed of 😭. I came home DISTRAUGHT after running around town to different restaurants I had dined at, and I realized I could put all this negative energy into transcribing songs. So I did. TWELVE. SONGS. FIVE. HOURS. I knew if I took any breaks, I wouldn't pick it back up again. It was a nonstop stream of "CLACK CLACK CLICK CLICK CLACK" from my room. Also a great time to practice not looking at the keyboard when I type, a nasty habit horrible for your posture. I was locked TF in. I set the last song up for a YouTube premiere on December 24th at midnight and then quickly bounced out the door to take a brisk walk as daylight was dwindling. The air never felt so rewarding.

I know it was technically a gift from Foster to me and then from me back to Foster and the fans, but really, this gave me the immeasurable gift of practicing and gaining SKILLS, reigniting my passion for transcribing and made me achieve things I didn't think I could do. I made sure I got every lyric correct to the best of my abilities, a testament to my painstaking perfectionism. I challenged myself to grind it out, because deep down, I wanted to see myself win, even when I wanted to half-ass it and quit. Teenage Foster who locked himself in his basement studio, grindin' til the early hours of the morning, man... he wouldn't have a clue that he would inspire a fan in an extremely similar situation to him a DECADE later. Thank you @615 , and happy holidays to all the Sters in the Discord server! 🎉🎄🔥<3

NEW SERIES ALERT! I'm going to be adding Foster's deleted songs on YouTube. I'm aiming for once a week, hopefully multiple times a week. I will simultaneously be adding the lyrics to Genius. The songs will be in this playlist below. It will be replacing my "Full Length Deleted Foster songs" series/playlist, but that series will still remain on my channel. I have just decided to reupload ALL the SoundCloud songs because it makes it a more complete set. Whew, I'm so glad I finally got around to announcing this -- starting is always the hardest step

I'm two weeks late but thank y'all so much for ONE THOUSAND SUBSCRIBERS!!! 🥳 I'm gonna be really sappy, so just SKIP to the end for the conclusion paragraph ‼ I was hiking with my friends that day so I kinda forgot to make a post about this. This channel was originally a Twenty One Pilots fan channel that I made back in 2017 that I never used; I just had created another email and decided to create a second channel too. Eventually, I started throwing up random videos that I didn't want on my main, typically pertaining to ‪@MarcVinyls‬ and ‪@vibesbygallo‬ and in 2021, my channel started to gain some international virality in the regions where YouTube was beta testing Shorts. Shoutout to Marc's eyebrows for the 60K views overnight, mf wrote that into a demo like "now my shit's goin' viral // as my life begins to spiral" 🔥.

Despite the taste of chaos, I still steadily uploaded and reuploaded videos onto this channel. I was happy to support the indie underground artists I was in fandom over, and to this day, I TRY to direct traffic from viral videos to the artists themselves. It doesn't work most of the time because people are stupid, but hey, to paraphrase Marc Vinyls: "that's one more person who's seen my face, and that's one more person who might recognize my face again". I've also branched out into reuploading concert footage 🎥 post-COVID, and although few in numbers, the messages I've received from thankful fans makes it all worth it 🤗

We're currently sitting at 1,022 subs as I'm writing this, and I'm thankful for each and every single one of y'all for watching my passion project grow. I don't make a single cent off this and I probably never will. That be said, please go over to my main channel where I *might* be able to make money off my passion, MUSIC EDITS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuJpV.... Also if you're a small artist and want promotion on this channel, contact me and we can chop it up in DMs.

My final words are to NEVER STOP PROMOTING your favorite indie underground artists. Special thanks to my friends Marc Vinyls, Gallo, ‪@foster615‬ , and ‪@nab8681‬ for supporting and encouraging me along this journey <3
