Cross Counter TV is the home of the Excellent Adventures of gootecks & Mike Ross! Featuring the best and brightest of the fighting game community as well as event coverage, live streams and more.
I'm back and recovered from Evo now. Will make a longer post later but wanted to share this photo of Combofiend and Clockw0rk who represented OGs everywhere by getting Top 8 in Marvel vs. Capcom 2!
On Sunday, I ran into Combofiend and Dash at the Marvel Tokon booth and managed to slide in with them while they got to try the game for the first time. Ended up with 4 matches or nearly 20 minutes, so I cut split it up into two videos which are up now.
They announced the closed PS5 beta is Sept. 5-7, the link to pre-register is in the video description. I don't have a PS5 but if people really are excited for this, then maybe I'll see if I can borrow one for the weekend.
Call off the search, I'm alive! Long time no see. Just wanted to let you know I had the pleasure of sitting down to chat with @Technicals recently and the video just went up.
Some of the topics covered: Pastor gootecks: 17:38 Mike Ross: 21:39 FGC Pursuits: 23:06 Publishing Books: 25:03 Twitch Removes Emote: 30:11 Getting a Kick Deal: 35:08 Misinterpretation: 36:06 Would you change anything?: 36:44 New Plans: 38:43
Just doing some research to see where you all are ranking in SF6 right now so I can make videos accordingly. Currently I have Ryu, Luke, Ken, Dee Jay, and Modern Zangief in Master, and Ed in Platinum 5. Oh and Guile in Diamond 5.
Feel free to specify which star rank you are in the comments below.
Just put up a new video where I use the REFramework mod to take a close-up look of the new SF6 stage, Ruined Lab. M. Bison's hat is clearly visible and there are test tube Seth clones. Take a look:
We all know that the road to becoming the best player you can be isn't just about executing that combo you practiced for hours on end, it's also about analyzing our past battles, right? 😏
Pop quiz, hotshots!
💭 When was the last time you sat down and watched one of your replays? 📝
Drop your answer in the comments below! And remember, it's all fun and games until someone forgets to analyze their replays, right? 😂 Stay fierce, Fighters! 👊💥
And if you're not quite sure what to look for when you watch your replays, watch me watch the tapes from my first Street Fighter 6 tournament here in Las Vegas.
Ever lost your cool during a tense fighting game match? Well, we've all been there. I had a long drive and someone had asked for a video about controlling emotions while you're playing, so here it is.
It's all about seeing your first round as a data dump. Yep, just like a scientist noting down monkey actions in the jungle, you gotta observe your opponents and their tactics.
Got all that info? Time to test it out. The next round is where you check whether your notes hit the mark or miss the target. If they don't, no sweat! Just another observation in the jungle.
But sometimes it's not them, it's you! Maybe you need a better training regime, maybe you need to learn how to anticipate your opponent's next move better.
Practice is key, you already know that. But remember, you gotta practice the right way. Train for real-match scenarios, get into the nitty-gritty of the recording slots in Training Mode.
Check out the new video and let me know if you have an interesting way to stay calm when the 💩 hits the fan:

It's Flashback Friday and we're going way back to a time when joysticks and offline were the standard.
This epic FT10 showdown between Arturo Sanchez @NYCFurby vs. Daigo took place in Room 1676 after Evo 2009.
