You’re in the right spot if you like minimalism, self-growth, street photography, tattoos, and cars.
Hi, I’m Brad. This is my creative space to share my interests and life learnings. I don't have a set posting schedule for uploads; I post when I feel something is worth sharing.
I made up the word flonøught (flo•nought) which broken down means to flourish from nothing. It combines the latin word florens (flourishing) and nought (nothing).

This is somewhat of a sad close to a big chapter of my life.
I had my 2006 Acura RSX Type S for about 14 years, and it’s been one hell of a car with A LOT of memories. I never got tired of it in all that time, and the modifications I added made it that much more fun to drive. However, this decision ultimately came down to car or life experience… and I chose life experience with moving to Seattle.
There will be a time in my life where I’m sure I’ll get another sports car, but for now I’m going carless. And I have to say, I love it much more than I thought I would.
You know that feeling you get when you get rid of some clothes in your closet you never wore? or some bullshit thing you finally throw away after keeping it for so long because you thought, "I think I'll need this one day.” Well, when you get rid of a car, times that weightless after feeling by 100.
And although I loved my car and used it a lot, not having the financial burden anymore started to bring back some childhood memories. The days when I was just a kid in the 90s with my bmx bike, pedaling as hard as I could with the wind rushing in my face. Nowhere to be but in that moment.
So in my next video tomorrow, I’m going to talk about this feeling. And get into all the numbers - I failed math a few times in college and still find this interesting - to show the cost of living I experienced first hand between St. Louis and Seattle.
New video drops tomorrow at 4pm PT.

I hope everyone is feeling recharged for the New Year!
I took off a good amount of time from work and YouTube towards the end of this year to recharge, spend time with family and friends back in STL, and just have some lazy time watching TV and movies. It was fantastic.
I'm ready to get back in the groove of creating. This first one is going to be a 6 month review of the Koala sofa bed, the new bed I got and why I went back to a traditional bed, a short share about something I haven't talked about on this channel yet, and the video topic coming after this video (excited for that one too!).
New video drops this Thursday at 4pm PT.

I’ll start with this: It’s been one hell of a year.
Posting that first YouTube video may have been one of my better life decisions to date. Since starting YouTube just over a year ago (October 19, 2023), I’ve grown so much creatively and personally.
In this video, I’ll share tips that helped me start my channel and main learnings from the year, show you some of my analytics, and the amount I made after getting monetized towards the end of the year.
Hopefully this sparks some ideas to help you out if you just started, or if you were wanting to start maybe this will give you the push you need.
I’m having a lot of fun making these and am looking forward to continue creating. I really appreciate the support from you all!

this year has been crazy...
before i get into a reflection of this year, my next video (an apartment tour) drops tomorrow at 4pm pt. i love small spaces and it forces you to get creative with the space you have and what you choose to bring into it. hope you check it out!
so on october 19, 2023, i posted my first video on youtube. i didn’t know what i was doing and i didn’t have a plan. however, just taking the time to sit down, hit record, begin to learn how to talk to the camera, learn how to edit, and post the video were huge steps. that first post made everything real.
i had a several big goals for the year:
• start a youtube channel
• talk with my manager about moving to a new city
• find a city that i like and apartment
• reduce life down to the essentials
• decide whether to take or leave my car
• get monetized on youtube by the end of the year
• slow down, make more time for self-discovery, take a break from dating to work on myself because there's no rush
i hit all my goals this year and it's because i wrote down what i wanted to accomplish. i focused on them one thing at a time, and these bigger dreams of moving to a new city and starting a youtube channel suddenly didn't seem overwhelming. i stopped saying "one day i will..." and took fucking action to make them happen. and for those that don't know, the snake tattoo on my leg was/is a big reminder of this (for transformation, rebirth, and protection).
i turned 34 today, and i have to say i love getting older. each year, good or bad, i learn more about who i am and what i want in life. i learn what relationships with people around me are worth putting in more effort and which ones i can cut out. i learn to stop caring what people think as much because they don't care/notice and have their own shit going on in their life. i learn to stop getting in relationships i'm not ready for and take the time to work on myself.
make sure you take the time to appreciate who and what you have in your life. no matter how good or bad your life is, appreciate where you are, and if where you are isn't where you want to be... change it. enjoy the process along the way because that's where all the good stuff is.
thank you to all of you who have taken the time to watch my videos and support my channel. it means more than you realize.
cheers,
🤓

it's been 2 months since i got the koala sofa bed...
in my next video, i'm going to talk about something i haven't talked about yet on this channel, give you an update about how the sofa bed is holding up, show you a trick that's really helped the bed comfort (specifically the crease), go over some maintenance tips, and answer some of your common questions that i pulled from the comments of the last video.
on a side note, we're about to hit 1,000 subs. thank you so much for all the support! it's been great getting to know some of you in the comments. i still don't know where this whole youtube thing is going, but what i do know is i'm having a lot of fun along the way.
see you tomorrow! new video drops at:

my next video is for my minimalism/furniture design lovers out there.
i'll be talking through my desk setup for my new apartment. the primary focus will be on the newson task chair (designed by marc newson for knoll), with a secondary focus on the stash desk (from bludot). it's not my complete setup, but it's the core items to start.
i remember when the newson task chair first came out in 2022-ish, and i immediately fell in the with the design; due to the high price tag i didn't have the extra funds to purchase it at the time. this is an interesting item because it has received a lot of hype and recognition over the years for its design, but surprisingly there are still no youtube reviews about it (to my knowledge this will be the first). have you heard of this chair before?
looking forward to get your thoughts about it.
video drops this thursday at 4pm pacific time (5pm mountain, 6pm central, 7pm eastern).

do you ever feel like you're in a movie?
yesterday, i needed to do laundry. a simple enough task, right? right. well, while i was in the bathroom i thought, “wouldn’t it be cool if…” seriously, that’s all it takes with my brain at times, then it starts running in place until i address the thing that’s occupying it; similar to an itch that needs to be scratched or a dog waiting for you to throw the ball. i have a feeling my creatives out there totally get what I’m referring to.
so i walked to the living room, got my camera out, and began filming. no script. no plan. just a general idea and random shot ideas in my head. the short video i'm releasing tomorrow is the end result. and since i do youtube, now I have the pleasure of sharing these weird little mind blips with you all. 🤓
releasing tomorrow at 4pm pacific time (5pm mountain, 6pm central, 7pm eastern).

i’ve always had a traditional bed, until now.
moving to a smaller apartment forces you to get creative with the furniture and things you bring in to the space. for my first video in the new seattle apartment, which is about 400 sqft, i’m going to breakdown down why i didn’t go with a traditional bed or shikibuton (futon on the floor), and instead went with a sofa bed.

have you ever wanted to just start over and move to a new city?
not starting over to run from something, but being in a good place in life and challenging yourself to be uncomfortable again; in a new place, meeting new people, having new experiences, all of it. this is something that’s been on my mind for the past few years. the idea of moving somewhere new, after living in st. louis for my entire life, has always been an overwhelming concept to me.
in my next video dropping this sunday at 2pm CT, we’re going to talk about the topic of moving (and where i’ll be going). i’m really excited for this next life chapter and looking forward to share this journey with all of you.

have you ever been inside of the seattle space needle? if not, you can experience a full rotation this wednesday at 6pm ct.
i went there on my recent trip to seattle; the experience exceeded my expectations and the views are incredible. while I was having dinner, i had my camera on my tripod to capture a full rotation (which I sped up by about 4x for the edit) during the day, as well as some bonus footage of the view at night on the observatory deck.
on a side note, i’m also working on filming my next video this week which will be somewhat of a follow up to my previous money video. i’ll update you on a release time next week.
