Ekstra Media is an independent media platform that offers a different way of seeing the world—from the ground up, from the margins, from voices often pushed aside. We focus on grassroots issues, those that emerge directly from the everyday realities of the people: workers, farmers, students, urban poor, Indigenous communities, and other marginalized groups.

Amid the dominance of elite and mainstream narratives, Ekstra Media chooses to amplify the small and give voice to the unheard. Through in-depth reporting, critical essays, citizen documentaries, and stories from the field, we are building a media that takes sides—on the side of justice, equality, and solidarity.

More than just a source of information, Ekstra Media is a shared space to learn, think critically, and take action. We believe that real change doesn’t come from above, but grows from below—from communities, from collective action, and from the courage to see the world differently.
