so there's this fanfic i was absolutely enamored with ever since 7th grade. it's about a secret world order sci-fi action story wherein a group of 9 girls uncover a dark hidden truth of south korea and its lurking legion of clone robot weapons designed to destroy society on its feet brick by brick. and of course, the main characters are girls' generation members. i loved it so much and how well-written it is that i decided i'll make a manga adaptation of it. i started with these character head sketches, a trial panel (that you cannot see due to the contrast), face angles, and whatnot. and yet, i did not push through with it. it still lives in my heart though.
i was so proud of this i showed it to my family immediately afterwards. i remember coming out of my humid room, it was a particularly cold rainy morning, then i went to my parent's room and said "look look what i drew!" and rhey were all like "woah that's so realistic!" heh
oh i was proud of this one. i think i showed it to my family immediately after finishing it! i liked kpop groups from under SM entertainment because of SNSD. so EXO would be one of them.

as much of an embarrassment as i would like to admit it, i used to read fanfictions of taeyeon being a guy(???) and being shipped with other members, especially tiffany and jessica. and there were all sorts of those edits of girls' generation members as men! and i liked to identify who was the most handsome among them. to this day, i find it hard to psychoanalyze the reason why my interests were very male-centered when i turned out to be a lesbian, actually. weird days.

probably one of the first portraits i've ever done in my life. and here i'm entering a newer era where i got addicted to k-pop because of my then bestfriend who introduced me to it. i loved girls' generation and they were a huge part of my growing up. this is taeyeon, the leader of snsd, and i love her (was obsessed with her too...) parasocial obsession is scary and it's a testimony of a youth's loneliness in a digital world.
i diverged from my usual anime cartoon style of drawing and started drawing realistic pictures. somehow, this drawing of a river became some kind of visual anagram/optical illusion with how poorly i made it seem drawn like.
