Hi I’m Aimee. I live on an island in the river Thames and am currently converting a 20-year-old Mercedes mobility bus (Betty) into my dream luxury campervan. I’ve got no previous experience, just a dream and a can-do attitude. Alongside some great friends and my project manager Lemon (my staffie X) we are bringing this dream to life.
Life has changed so much in recent years, and I’ve been asking myself what kind of life I want to build and enjoy. I want to work to live and mostly I want to explore, travel, learn new skills, and meet new people. This project is the beginning of my journey to LIVE WILD AND FREE.

Well it’s been another fantastic weekend working on Betty! Am currently editing this week’s video and am hoping to have it out tomorrow night. As you can tell with the shorter days it’s harder for me to put a video out on a Sunday, so moving forwards videos will be posted on a Monday at 7pm.

Sorry Everyone, no video tonight as Jerry and I had a week off the build last week and then got back to it today (and smashed it!) but I’m still working on the edit. I’m going to try my best to put a video out by tomorrow at 8pm 😊 check out the photo below for a preview of what we got up to today! How exciting is this!!!!

Day 1 of my weekend adventure and after a beautiful morning walk in the woods, a quick stop at Argos for a new air matress (yep last night mine was flat as a pancake!) Betty pulled into @WaddesdonManorNT and Lemon🍋 and I had the most lovely day! What fantastic value my @nationaltrustcharity membership is! I can’t recommend it enough for anyone travelling around the UK.
Tonight’s parkup is a pub stopover at the Rose Revived Pub on the River Thames. Looking forward to a delicious meal, another chilled out evening and hopefully 🤞a comfy sleep!
Happy Halloween Everyone
Day 2 of my adventure actually consisted of coming home to feed my neighbours cats, recharge the power bank and pop into London for the @ChelseaWomenFCofficial football match. That afternoon 🍋 and I hopped back into Betty and made our way to Ranmore Common and found another fantastic parkup for the night. This time I had a functional air matress and even though the rain was hammering down we were mostly dry and warm in Betty!
On the final morning of my adventure 🍋 and I headed to @polesdenlaceyNT (another @nationaltrustcharity property) and had the most beautiful 3mile walk around the estate before I popped in to admire the house. We finished with a Sunday roast dinner at the Black Swan in Ockham.
What a whirlwind of a weekend! I have learnt so much about driving, parking and staying in Betty. I’ve refined some of the design aspects after staying in her and of course I’ve found some more things to repair that we didn’t already have on our list.
I’ve made it home now and am furiously spending the afternoon editing to hopefully get a video out tonight by 7!

Poor Lemon hates fireworks so I decided to pack up both Betty and Lemon and come away for the weekend! I’m bouncing around Oxfordshire and this is tonight’s fabulous park up! Quiet, flat and right on the trails.

Hi everyone, no new video this week as I’m inundated with work and have no time to edit and even less time to work on Betty ☹️
On an exciting note last week I took Betty on an adventure to Melton Mowbray to have her MOT and my batteries are now fully charged through the solar panels!
Jerry and I have started work on building the shower, so lots of change is coming!

Hi Everyone! I’m back from my beautiful holiday in Wales and sooo ready to get back to work on Betty. Jerry and I have big plans for this week, but I was thinking of filming a Q+A video this week to go out this upcoming weekend which will talk about the budget for this project, how much I’ve spent so far and how I’m funding it. What other question would you like me to answer? Happy to answer anything bus or island related. Let me know in the comments!
