Universities play a defining role in shaping minds, building character and preparing individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the reformation of society.

In this regard, an insightful discussion and Tarbiyah session was held for the faculty and management of Dar-ul-Madina International University.

Mufti Muhammad Qasim Attari, Member, Board of Executives DMIU and Chairman, Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ Chair, addressed the session and shared valuable guidance on the role, direction and responsibility of an Islamic university in the contemporary educational landscape.

The session was attended by the Chancellor DMIU, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Director Planning and Development, Heads of Departments, faculty members and senior management representatives.

Mufti Qasim emphasised the importance of an Islamic education system, highlighting its distinctive value, practical relevance and long-term benefit for individuals, institutions and society. He identified a major gap in the conventional higher education system, where academic learning is often separated from Tarbiyah, moral formation and purposeful character development.

He further stressed that various faculties, disciplines, sciences and professional fields must be connected with their Islamic foundations. He stated that universities should prepare students with clarity of vision, intellectual maturity and a strong sense of responsibility to play a positive role in society.

Mufti Qasim also highlighted the importance of practical steps, strategic planning and effective execution, noting that meaningful institutional outcomes are achieved when ideas are translated into structured action.

The session reflected Dar-ul-Madina International University’s commitment to academic excellence, Islamic values, Tarbiyah and purposeful contribution to society.
