Dhahran Geoscience Society (DGS) is a nonprofit organization based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The society was founded in 1987 by a group of enthusiastic geologists who anticipated the need for a platform to share technical ideas and promote professional development within the local oil and gas exploration community. The founders originally named the society the Dhahran Geological Society, but in 1998, DGS became known as the Dhahran Geoscience Society in its transformation to a multidisciplinary organization encompassing geology, geophysics, and related sciences.
