Sorry for the lack of posting anything substantial lately. I recently launched an iOS application after 2 straight weeks of very late nights coding it after work at my new job. I hate to admit it, but I’m extremely disappointed with Tame Impala’s new album Deadbeat. I’ve been a huge fan of his Lonerism & Currents sound and that’s what got me hooked. The Slow Rush was the first album where I started to feel some bumps in the road, but Deadbeat is a whole different story. Deadbeat is such a let down. It feels like Kevin just gave up on music. This album just sounds like uninspired music you’d hear in a Zara store on repeat. Some of the tracks, like Eternal Connection were gruesomely painful to get through. The album just felt lazy and that’s extremely disappointing for Kevin Parker fans. Maybe it’ll grow on me the way Guitar by Mac DeMarco did (which turned out to be one of my favorites by him), but just off the jump I was extremely disappointed with this one. I still love Kevin Parker though.
