From Mumbai to Delhi, Bengaluru to Hyderabad, India's rental housing market is witnessing strong momentum. According to the newspaper report, rents have risen sharply across several major cities over the last five years, driven by increasing urbanisation, employment opportunities and demand for homes in well-connected locations.

Interestingly, homes in the ₹25,000–₹35,000 monthly rent range are reportedly seeing particularly strong demand.

💰 The report estimates India's residential rental market at approximately ₹7.53 lakh crore — showing just how significant rental housing has become.

A shocking insider fraud has been busted at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where genuine cash inside a high-security currency chest was systematically swapped with counterfeit notes! 😱

The Suspects: An FIR has been registered against three suspended PNB officials: Senior Divisional Manager Ravi Kumar, and Currency Chest Managers Sushil Sharma and Amit Kumar.

The Scale: While the FIR initially states ₹7.40 crore in fake notes, ongoing RBI audits suggest the scam could skyrocket up to ₹17 crore! 📈

How it happened: The fraud came to light after a routine check revealed a cash shortfall, triggering a massive forensic ledger audit that exposed the fake currency bundles hidden deep in the vault.

The Action: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed by the police to track down where the real cash was laundered.
