WHEN THE WORK ISN'T PERSONAL, IT DIES

Most artists don’t stop because they’re weak — they stop because the work stops mattering to them in a personal way. You can force yourself to keep going for a while, but work you don’t care about drains you very fast. It feels mechanical and pointless. I’ve made videos like this. Videos for everyone but me. It looks fine from the outside, but it feels dead to me. If the work doesn’t matter, motivation won’t stay and consistency feels fake.

People say “follow your dreams” — but when you actually try to go your own way in life, people will quietly (or loudly) pull you back. Friends, family, even well-meaning people can’t always see your vision. Many stubbornly refuse to. They project their fears onto you, and tell you to play it SO SAFE, that life loses all of it's colour.

We used to think a midlife crisis was sad — but it was actually a sign someone finally woke up after years of living for their parents, society, money, or approval. What worries me now is the new midlife crisis, and it’s happening in your teens and twenties. I’m seeing young people opting out of life, calling it intelligence, minimalism, or early retirement, before they’ve even tried being regular, failing, exploring, working, or finding out who they are.

I’ll be honest — when I first started YouTube, I was doing it because I just wanted to vent my frustrations in my dating life, and also to belong to a community of people I liked too. I enjoyed feeling like a “creator” also. But somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn’t doing it for myself as much (like i had been at the start). I was going around in circles, stressing about "what people wanted" from me... This stream isn’t a guide or a rant — it’s more like a confession. About creative burnout, losing my way a little, and finding my way back to making things that actually mean something to me again. If you’re thinking about starting a channel, maybe this livestream will give you food for thought.
