Khoma Brut

With as much Dead as I’ve loved, I don’t remember listening all the way through their famous Cornell 77 show at Barton Hall 🤨

Decided to fix that today.

The show is striking for a number of reasons.

One, it has a drive to it and an energy that almost no shows have in their catalog that I know of.

Two, Phil is playing some remarkable language on the bass.

Finally, the musicality and technical proficiency demonstrated by the band is quite impressive.

For all three, check out the tonal modulations at about 13 minutes of Dancing in the Streets for a change in headspace after the long vamp that leads into it.
