This week I had the pleasure to meet one of my rock heroes! 😍🔥 Mia Coldheart from ​Crucified Barbara 🎸 She played bass with The Gems and also opened the night with her acoustic project, Mia Karlsson, both incredible performances!

When I first started to play the guitar in 2009, there weren’t a lot of well-known female bands in metal and rock music. Every time I would find one, I would go completely crazyyy over them. I immediately fell in love with Joan Jett from The Runaways, Kelly Johnson from Girlschool, The Donnas, Nervosa and, of course, Mia Coldheart from Crucified Barbara.

Mia had this badass rockstar attitude, an incredibly fierce voice, awesome riffs and tasty solos. It was a pleasure to watch her rock around the world through YouTube haha. She inspired me not only to play guitar, but also to sing. For a while, I even tried to mimic her voice, which surely didn’t work quite well. 😅 I focused on guitar for years instead. Now I’m the vocalist and guitarist of my own band ‪@nungaraband‬ and I’ve learned to use my voice in my own way, without trying to imitate anyone. 💖

They say never meet your heroes, but my experience was truly unforgettable. Mia was very sweet and kind, she calmed me down when she saw I was on the verge of tears, took photos with me, and later even handed me a beer while we hanged out backstage.

Mia thank you so much for being an inspiration to so many women in rock! I can’t wait to see you live with Crucified Barbara. That’s definitely on my bucket list! 🖤🔥

Quando comecei a tocar guitarra em 2009, não existiam tantas bandas femininas conhecidas no rock e no metal. Toda vez que eu encontrava alguma, ficava obcecadaaaa por elas haha. A Mia sempre teve aquela atitude de badass rockstar, com uma voz extremamente forte, riffs incríveis e solos lindões. Eu adorava assisti-la tocando ao redor do mundo pelo YouTube haha. Ela me inspirou não só a tocar guitarra, mas também a cantar. Por um tempo, eu até tentei imitar a voz dela, o que claramente não deu muito certo. 😅 Então foquei na guitarra por anos.

Hoje eu sou vocalista e guitarrista da minha própria banda Nungara e aprendi a usar a minha voz do meu jeito, sem tentar imitar ninguém. 💖

Dizem que você nunca deve conhecer seus ídolos, mas a minha experiência foi simplesmente inesquecível. A Mia foi muito querida e fofa, me acalmou quando viu que eu estava quase chorando, tirou fotos comigo e depois ainda me deu uma cerveja no backstage.

Mia, muito obrigada por ser uma inspiração para tantas mulheres no rock! Mal posso esperar para te ver ao vivo com o Crucified Barbara, com certeza está na minha lista! 🖤🔥

What’s up gamersss? 😏🎮 I know there’s a big overlap between the metal community and the gaming community. Are you guys into gaming? 👾

I used to play games a lottt as a kid, especially Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 games. I remember being home, glued to the screen with my sister, as we tried to finish one more Super Mario World level. As I grew up, I started other hobbies, like guitar playing, and gaming unfortunately was slowly forgotten.

Fast forward to today, I’m in my 30s and I’m finally getting back to this hobby I once loved so much. All thanks to my Twitch community! These guys reignited my appreciation for gaming, and today I play PS5 and Switch games thanks to them. 🥰

Brazil so far! 🇧🇷✨ It’s been such a gift to spend some time in my home country during carnival season and summertime ☀️

Amazing food, beaches, family & friends, parties, carnival parades haha. One more week in paradise before I travel back to cold Germany to finish my band @nungaraband first album! I’m soooo inspired guysss, and to be honest I can’t wait to get back to writing 😍🔥
