Hi, friends! I posted a video the other day about homeschooling and idolatry and identity. It hit a nerve--but maybe not in 100% the right way.
I truly appreciated the viewer's request to make this video. It was very timely for me to reflect on these topics, and a few people were encouraged by it.
In making this video, I was trying to address that it might be more than what it should be for some, though not everyone. Even good things can become idols in our hearts if we put them in God's place or credit them with the work that only God can do. That doesn't mean that we have to root those things out of our lives, but it is good to check ourselves. I think this was the point of the viewer who asked me to make this video.
However, I think my wording (in making the video on the fly somewhat) was not what it should be. So I'm taking it down and plan to possibly revisit the topic in the future, though likely by tackling the topics of identity, idolatry, and transition to another educational choice separately.

Hey, YouTube friends! 👋🏼 This is just to say that, though it might have seemed questionable, I am indeed alive. 😂 Sorry for just dropping off the planet without any communication.
I've been gone from here for far too long, and it's time to jump back in. The reason for my absence? A happy one: having a baby...and life in general getting much more busy than it has in a good while.
But now I've finally regained some breathing room, so be on the lookout for a new video this week!
To make this return to YouTube sustainable, I'm starting slowly with a commitment to one video a week. But I'm beyond excited to get to chat with you all again--and to finally get around to replying to your comments! You mean a lot to me. :)
