After service today, we walked to a piece of land that was gifted to Pa by his late mother and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

We celebrated Paloma's birthday yesterday!
Our oldest daughter is already 20 years old. 💓
We took her to do a little shopping and then came home and fixed up an "American" taco bar and of course some birthday cake.

Paloma, Pa and I continue to be so proud of you in all that you do.
May the Lord continue to bless you in this new year of life as you continue to grow into such a beautiful young lady.
We love you so much. ❤️

We are making Pa's Tamales tonight!

Yep, Pa's recipe and he has been making them for us for the last 15 years!
Since Paloma was 5!
They are a pork tamale 🫔 in a thick red salsa and they are by far the best 👌

Our Life in Guanajuato, Mexico

Good morning friends!

We get asked often if we celebrate Halloween👻 or Day of the Dead💀 in our family here in Guanajuato México.

Our family doesn't celebrate either holiday but we do enjoy the end of fall harvest and are greatfull for God's bounty in our homes and community. (Yes, our fall harvest here in Guanajuato is now over just like in Minnesota) With all the rain we got this year, everyone enjoyed a rich harvest 🌽🌽

We also talk about how significant this time of year is for our faith because Reformation Day is October 31st.

This year, we celebrated by making a fall display for family photos by making scarecrows, carving mexican pumpkins, gathering with Paloma, Gabino, and Naomi for dinner and played a long game of SKIP-BO.

We hope you enjoyed whatever holiday you celebrate during this time of year and gathered with family and friends because that is what's important.

¡Buenos días, amigos! Nos preguntan a menudo si celebramos Halloween 👻 o el Día de Muertos 💀 en nuestra familia aquí en Guanajuato, México.

Nuestra familia no celebra ninguna de las dos festividades, pero sí disfrutamos del final de la cosecha de otoño y agradecemos la generosidad de Dios en nuestros hogares y comunidad. (Sí, nuestra cosecha de otoño aquí en Guanajuato ya terminó, al igual que en Minnesota). Con toda la lluvia que tuvimos este año, todos disfrutamos de una abundante cosecha 🌽🌽.

También hablamos de lo significativa que es esta época del año para nuestra fe, ya que el Día de la Reforma es el 31 de octubre. Este año lo celebramos haciendo una decoración otoñal para fotos familiares: hicimos espantapájaros, tallamos calabazas mexicanas, nos reunimos con Paloma, Gabino y Naomi para cenar y jugamos una larga partida de Skip-Bo.

Esperamos que hayan disfrutado de la festividad que celebren durante esta época del año y que se hayan reunido con familiares y amigos, porque eso es lo importante: el amor mutuo 💗

Pa ha estado en un proceso de salud durante algunos meses y hoy es el primer paso de muchos hacia una boca sana y una sonrisa aún más hermosa para él, aquí presente. ❤️

Muchos saben que pasamos muchos años con dificultades económicas en Minnesota después de que a papá le negaran el cambio de estatus en EE. UU. y no pudiera trabajar legalmente. Sin un trabajo digno, sin seguro médico, etc., no recibió atención médica durante 18 años en EE. UU. y llegó con una mordida cruzada severa (genética y algo por lo que Paloma recibió tratamiento), por lo que su salud bucal se ha agravado mucho.

Gracias a Dios y a todos nuestros amigos y familiares aquí en Facebook, ahora podemos empezar a atender sus necesidades. Gracias por ver nuestro contenido y ser parte de nuestro proceso aquí en Guanajuato, México.

Pa has been on a health journey for a few months and today is the first step of many to a healthy mouth and even more beautiful smile for Pa, out here today. ❤️

Many know that we struggled financially in Minnesota for many years after Pa was denied his status change in the U.S. and could not legally work.

With no real decent paying job, no insurance, etc, he received no healthcare while in the U.S for 18 years and came to the U.S with a severe cross bite(genetics and something Paloma was treated for) and Pa's oral health situation has gotten very severe.

Thanks to the Lord and all of our friends and family here on Youtube we are able to start addressing his needs now.
