More than six hundred migrants, including Gambians, are missing in the Atlantic Ocean after four boats carrying around seven hundred people departed The Gambia on March 29th, heading to Spain’s Canary Islands, and vanished without a trace.
The boats left from Tanji, Kartong, and Gunjur, and have been at sea for over 13 days, with no confirmed arrivals or interceptions in Morocco, Mauritania, or Senegal.
Migration organisations tracking the crossings warn of a potential mass casualty situation, as families fear those onboard may be running out of food, water, and fuel, while calls grow for urgent, coordinated search and rescue efforts across the region.
In view of the trends in the results of the presidential election and while awaiting the official proclamation, I congratulate the President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye for his victory in the first round.
I pray to the Almighty to grant him the energy and strength necessary to assume this high office at the head of our country. I wish him much success and success for the well-being of the Senegalese people.
UNEDITED: Tamale is one of the few places in Ghana you won't be victimized for your inability to speak their language

Some of the few places you can be in GHANA without being victimized for your inability to speak the local language is TAMALE and Winneba... A typical Dagbandoo in Tamale will try to speak broken English or your language to you if he realises you cannot speak the native language.. Anytime I go to places: Kenkey sellers, Plantain sellers and fufu sellers who mostly are either Ayigbe or Akan, I see real Tamale people trying to speak the sellers language. A Dagomba man will respect you despite your inability to speak his language. You will not hear ignorant questions like: "Are you not a Ghanaian? Why can't you speak our language "? So much like what you experience in other parts of the country...
And truly the only two places I feel safe in Ghana are Winneba and Tamale. I stayed in Winneba for five years. . Never, not for once did anyone question my inability to speak Fante or the Simpa language. I think there is much much less enlightenment in places where tribalism thrives.
