Winning here comes down to discipline and technique.
Key points:
• Attack the ball carrier inside-out
• Track the near hip as you close space
• Shorten your stride to stay under control
• Stay square and finish through contact
Great safeties also diagnose the play fast.
Pre-snap: Identify the end man on the line or uncovered lineman.
Post-snap:
Low hat = Run
High hat = Pass
