I want to thank everyone who helped me with the added cooling fan relay suggestions. I was able to install an extra single fan relay on both the EG hatch and the Integra that works in conjunction with KPro.
If you’re having the same blown cooling-fan fuse issue, stop replacing the fuse with a higher-amp one—that’s extremely unsafe for your wiring circuit. Instead, choose a permanent fix and add an external cooling-fan relay setup.
Overall, building my own cooling relay cost me about $50 in materials, and I was able to use it on both cars. You can also buy one online, but I’ve seen them go for $140–$150. Stay tuned for the video!
Update! The budget fuel pressure regulator failed on me on my way back from the dyno. I was honestly surprised with how long it held up, but I can’t complain — it was only $40.
I upgraded to an AEM fuel pressure regulator, but the quality was questionable since it was only $80 from eBay. I was hoping it would work either way, but unfortunately it didn’t. It repeatedly failed to hold the set pressure.
I'm not knocking budget fuel pressure regulators, but you kind of get what you pay for. I upgraded to a higher-quality fuel pressure regulator, and honestly, the comparison isn’t even close. The differences are very noticeable, just as expected. Stay tuned for the video.
Update!!! For the "K-Swap Shifter Mounting Kit Template for EG/EK/DC with RSX Shifter"
Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing great! I just wanted to thank you all for the continued support.
A lot of you have been asking about the template for the non–K-Tuned K-Swap replica shifter mounting kit. The replica version doesn’t include a template — only the K-Tuned one does — and I’m aware that finding the K-Tuned shifter mounting kit for the RSX shifter has become harder these days.
I’ll be uploading a video soon showing how to make your own template. If you’d like to purchase a copy from me, just comment “I need one”, and I’ll reply with the details.
I’m writing this to see if it helps anyone out there who might be going through the same process as me.
So when I had the stock balance shaft oil pump in the K20Z3 with the base map, my AFRs were stable at 14.7. After swapping to the Type S oil pump, once the car reached closed loop, the AFRs started fluctuating from 14.7 to 13, then to 15, and back to 14 😮💨. I asked the guy who’s going to tune my car, and he told me this.
Before you had the balance shaft oil pump and switched to the K20 RSX Type S, what happens is the engine now revs much more freely, which allows it to bring in more airflow and make more power. When that happens, the AFRs can jump around — that’s normal. Tuning is needed to get the AFR more stable.
The whole time, I thought it was my TPS that needed to be recalibrated, which I did — until I found what actually worked for me. But to resolve the AFRs fluctuation, I would need to tune.
