Here's a simple truth: Your thoughts can change your feelings, which can shape your actions. It's a chain reaction that all starts with what's going on in your head. Just like a negative thought can steer you in the wrong direction, positive thinking can put you back on the road to Happy Town. And you're in the driver's seat. Where are your thoughts taking you?
Sometimes the best memories are made when you're not rushing through life but actually living it. It's like the universe's way of whispering, "Hey, it's cool to take your time." So the next time you're hurrying through your to-do list, checking things off as fast as you can, consider this an invitation to pause, breathe and soak in life as it unfolds, at your own rhythm.
"MUD\WTR helped me quit coffee, which I had previously nearly worshiped and consumed with gusto. My family couldn't believe that I was able to kick that habit. I've been drinking :rise Cacao for a couple of years now and I still haven't gone back to drinking coffee. I feel more stable, much less jittery and I don't get caffeine crashes anymore." —Paula C.
Turns out, those family dinners your parents made you attend all those years could have actually made you happier. One article published by the University of Oxford indicated that "the more often people eat with others the more likely they are to feel happy and satisfied with their lives." But that isn't the only benefit of dining in. According to science, cooking can boost mental health and emotional well-being. Plus it'll make your house feel warm, cozy and smell delightful - but we didn't need science to know that.
According to one study, baking classes can help boost confidence and increase concentration. Another study revealed that a little creativity in the kitchen can make people happier. That same study suggested that people who frequently take on small, creative projects like baking or cooking report feeling more relaxed and happier in their everyday lives.

Both ancient indigenous practices and modern scientific research have demonstrated the power of psychedelics when it comes to accepting and making choices about our own death, especially within end-of-life/palliative care settings.
Several studies were conducted and published about the potential benefits of psychedelics in palliative and end-of-life care. These studies reported significant improvements in patient attitudes toward death, physical and emotional pain, well-being, mood, and sleep quality. Many of the terminal patients who participated reported that the benefits lasted for upwards of two weeks, making them a tempting alternative to daily medications with a laundry list of side effects.
Despite the stigma and complex legal issues surrounding psychedelics, positive change is happening, and the Western world is once again considering the medicinal benefits of these substances. "We tend to disempower ourselves. We tend to believe that we don't matter. And in the act of taking that idea to ourselves we give everything away to somebody else, to somethina else." -Terence McKenna
If you ever wanted a chill spot to hang out without drinking coffee or alcohol, we feel you. That's why we created MUD\WTR Gather.
But let's rewind a bit. For the past five years, we've grown our business online. And it's been amazing. We reached more than one million customers who otherwise might never have stumbled upon us. But let's face it, sometimes we're stifled by screens and keyboards. We always knew that to create the community we envisioned, we would have to track our muddy footprints into the real world.
Because we're not just about making delicious mushroom blends. We're on a mission to create healthy minds through healthy habits. Sure, our products are a part of that, but we're also crafting content that inspires curiosity and introspection, and we use our platform and profits to back the psychedelic research that's pushing forward our understanding of mental health and how true healing happens. Community and connection are crucial for mental health, so creating a physical container for that felt like a no-brainer. So we set up shop in Santa Monica, California. It's more than a cafe. It's a place to connect, unwind, get work done or maybe even discover a new passion with a yoga or breathwork class.
Come check it out for yourself. We're here for ya.
While recovering from ACL surgery, writer Nikhita Mahtani discovered mindset training, a form of sports psychology that's based on mental conditioning. Research from The Journal of Neurochemistry has shown that our brains are malleable, and we can easily build new habits and form beliefs through practices such as repetition, affirmations, visualizations, and meditation.
Because our sympathetic nervous system, also known as our fight or flight response, is on autopilot during exercise, listening to affirmations during exercise can affect our subconscious thought patterns and rewrite our belief systems without us even realizing it.
During her nine-month recovery, Nikhita was able to transform the way she felt about her body and improve her mental health through mindset training techniques. Read more about her journey in the latest Trends w/ Benefits article, "How Mindset Training Changed My Relationship With Myself."

Hey, a quick check-in: What's your self-talk soundtrack like today?
Is it peppy pop or doom metal?
Just remember, you're the one DJing.

The best thing we ever did was start small.
Small changes, turn into habits, turn into daily ritual that change your life.
So as you settle into the new year, remember to take it one step at a time.
