Lala only thinks she rules over the big barn. Here is the real ruler - King Doofus.

Made all the kids a custom pencil to start back to school. They picked out their own color combinations. All are acrylic - Abigale's is turquoise and pink; Amalie's is yellow and pink; and Rick's is black, red, and silver. I loved their excitement, but they were most amazed when I pulled off the end and showed them the eraser. 🤣✏️

Had to bring the kittens in from the barn. We have lost 2 litters to a predator, so decided once these critters started running around we would pull them and bring them up to the house until they are a bit bigger. They are about 5 weeks. They took to a milk dish pretty well. Their names are Spook, Tart, Beast, and Sailor (Abigale and Amalie named them). Three males and one female.

The LaLa Farm
From when we first started LaLa Farm, our intention has always been toward homesteading, self-sufficiency, and bringing our family together in a special place we call home. Somewhere along the way, YouTube was introduced into the equation. Probably from watching the thousands of homesteading channels trying to become the next big thing on the YouTube social media platform. While YouTube was never part of our original farm / homestead plan, it has come to dominate much of the time previously spent on homesteading projects we performed as a family. Between the extra time it takes to record projects, edit video, and read and respond to comments, YouTube has become a time vacuum that sucks valuable time away from family and self - time that can never be recaptured. While we will continue to support the YouTube family of homesteading channels as we always have, we are going to back off significantly from new content and live streams for the time being. We still plan to produce new content, but it will not be on the same self-imposed time line that we previously adopted. We will instead introduce new content when we have something novel or unique to share - not simply to put out content because it is a Monday or Friday. We have also discontinued our membership program and do not plan to re-initiate a similar plan in the future. We will no longer be doing regular Wednesday night lives. Instead, we will offer pop-up lives from time to time as we are engaged in various tasks around the farm. Our belief is that these changes will allow us to return to the roots of why we began farming and homesteading in the first place - which did not include earning pennies for the hours of work that is consumed related to YouTube.
