After one of you suggested I try a soft blue background, I couldn’t resist experimenting… and it turned out even better than I imagined. Now the piece feels even more rococo-inspired, delicate and dreamy 💙🐅

Hello!
I’m Vânia Sacramento, the illustrator behind Little & Poetry Illustration.

I’m a mother of two boys — the eldest with one foot already in pre-adolescence, the youngest still in that magical stage of discovering the world and all its wonders. (Though between us, I’m 38 years older than he is, and I still feel like I’m in that stage myself 😅).

I was born in Portugal, but these days I call Germany home. When I’m not drawing or painting, you’ll probably find me on the floor playing with a toddler, helping my eldest with his homework, or, in the quieter hours, knitting, crocheting, or losing myself in a book.

My art is softly joyful and rich in delicate details — a poetic attempt to romanticise the things around me: the scenes I notice, and even the most ordinary tasks and routines. I try to catch the beauty that hides inside fleeting moments. Inspired by a kind of contemporary Rococo, I paint gardens on paper, full of colour, flowers, and a hint of bucolic nostalgia. But behind all the calm and the pastel tones, there’s a spark that refuses to sit still — a mind brimming with ideas, always itching to create something new, something playful, something that might spark joy.

If you’re new here, welcome. I hope my work feels like opening a letter that spills out flowers and a little bit of my heart, straight to you.

Hello dear friends,
Lately, I haven’t been posting as often — being a full-time mum means that creating takes a slower, quieter rhythm.
But inspiration hasn’t gone quiet. It often finds me in the most ordinary moments: walking to the park, pushing the swing, watching my son drift off to sleep.

Creativity doesn’t always happen at the desk. Sometimes, the most important part of the process is just paying attention — to the world around us, to the small details, to beauty hiding in plain sight.
When I look at flowers through my son’s eyes, it’s like seeing them for the first time. That wonder, that pause — it’s where the seeds of new ideas begin to grow. 🌸
