Just started writing a book about the songs that touched me the most... and what everyone can learn from these gems. This wave of inspiration dates back to one moment 2009, when I was 19, described here. The book will be called "Songs That Touched Me: 35 Songs, 35 Lessons, 35 Places". Here's how it'll start:
Chapter 0 - Songs Either Touch You, Or They Donāt.
August 7th, 2025, morning. Just about to leave to a solo van trip in Europe, my first trip in 3 years - the longest time I havenāt traveled since age 23. Itās a season of revelations, discoveries, and what feels like saying goodbye to an old life, welcoming the new. I just decided two hours ago that I am going to write this book that you are now reading.
-
Songs either touch you, or they donāt.
This is something I learned from the great jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, when I read his autobiography.
And he had learned it from an Italian film director whose name I do not remember, who said it to him with a deep Italian accent.
Songs can indeed touch you. And I would also add - that some songs touch a deeper place in your heart than others do.
Last week, a girl I played music with told me that in yoga practice - we are thanking the chain of teachers that brought us the lessons.
So this is a book thanking the teachers who brought me all those life lessons through their songs.
I hope that these lessons will teach you some things too.
And who knows, maybe some of these songs will touch you too, and will join you on your own journeys.

"The highest purpose of art is to inspire. What else can you do for anyone but inspire them?" Bob Dylan.
This book is dedicated to those who inspired me. All the way from Yakir - the guy who inspired me, through one random evening in 2009, when I was 19, to start playing guitar.
I was a lonesome person looking for his place in the world. He saw me lost at this place, invited me to sit, took his beautiful white acoustic guitar out of its case, and just started playing.
He played and sang a series of my favorite Israeli songs of all time, one after the other, like he knew exactly what songs touch me the most. Songs by Ehud Banai, Arik Einstein, Meir Ariel, Yehuda Poliker.
I sat there quietly, and was slowly struck by awe from his ability to make songs come to life. To hear favorite songs of yours coming out of your own hands.
It seemed like⦠I am witnessing magic.
At this moment, I told myself - Iām gonna learn how to do this too.
-
I only met Yakir once, and I believe he was a messenger for me.
That evening opened something within me, and life hasnāt been the same since then. Since the evening I met my first real love - the music.
I hope to be another link in this inspiration chain for others to come.
Enjoy the book, much love.
P.S isnāt it odd that Yakir's guitar was the only time that I ever saw a white acoustic guitar in real lifeā¦?
I believe God has his ways - you just gotta listen to the music life's playing for you.
Did you ever notice that in all of my videos I NEVER look at tabs when I play?
Would you like to also know how to play YOUR favorite songs by ear, without ever being dependent on tabs to figure them out?
You can learn this skill as well, just like I did.
There are two main methods I love using for playing by ear:
šŖ The "Major Scale Method" šŗļø The "Solfege Map Method"
This Saturday, August 9th, at 1pm EST, (7pm Central Europe time) I will be hosting a live 45 minutes, FREE masterclass to teach you how to play songs by ear using these methods.
HOW TO REGISTER?
Download my free new app - Harmonica In 7 Days, which is available on both app stores. The masterclass link is inside the "Play By Ear" area in the app.
I have a question for you: Whatās the real difference between someone who just plays the notes to a song, and a musician who makes you stop, listen, and truly feel the music?
After years of playing harmonica and teaching thousands of people in my courses, I think Iāve found the answer.
Itās the soul.
The expression. Itās the small details that turn a simple songs melody into something that gives people goosebumps.
These aren't magic tricks you're born with, they are specific, learnable skills. I've broken it down into 11 core "Beautifying" Techniques that are the key to unlocking an expressive, professional sound on the harmonica.
Some examples:
- Legato - Glissando - Tremolo - Vibrato - Wah - Combining multi-notes instead of only single notes - Adding fancy licks - Volume control - above all - how to add emotion
I dedicate an entire mini-course inside the new "Harmonica in 7 Days" course to teaching you every single one of these 11 techniques, step-by-step.
So if you're ready to stop just playing notes and start making music that connects with people, the full path is waiting for you:
Who's ready to learn harmonica with the BRAND NEW APP I've been cooking the last 6 months? It's almost ready, and it contains new courses BOTH about the art of song-playing + the blues. Expect news by the end of June š
Beautiful beautiful song, and can you believe Bob Dylan wrote this classic only using 3 notes? On the harmonica they are 4, -4, 5. Grab your harmonica and join our jam:

For the past few weeks, I've been on a mission.
I looked at the top "beginner harmonica lessons" on YouTube and knew I could create something better for you.
Something that doesn't just teach you a random train sound, but gets you playing real, famous songs on your very first day.
So, I poured everything I've learned from teaching over 17,000 students on my harmonica courses into one epic, 22-minute lesson.
It's the best, most detailed video I've made in the 10 years of my channel, and now it's yours for free.
In this single lesson, you will:
Go from holding a harmonica for the first time...
...to jamming along (with me on the guitar) to "Knocking on Heaven's Door" and "Country Roads."
Along the way, you'll absorb over 21 essential foundations and tips that will change how you approach the instrument forever.
This lesson is a taste of the new "Harmonica in 7 Days" course & app, and I truly hope it helps you on your musical journey.
Enjoy!
