I didn’t take the traditional path into interior design—no degree or formal training—just a passion for problem solving & enough stubbornness to figure it out. Now, I'm here to help you do the same.
Degree-less Design is for the design curious - without the years (and a fortune) on a degree. I break down the skills, techniques, and industry know-how you need—so you can start designing with confidence.
I share free lessons, insights, and practical exercises to train your eye and build your skills.
Want to fast-track your journey? Check out my Degree-less Design Crash Course, where I walk you through everything you need to start a career in interior design without a degree*—from learning the technical to landing your first clients or job.
I’ve also created tools, templates, and resources to help you price projects, prep clients, and work like a real designer—so you don’t have to figure it all out the hard way...like I did.

In our Train Your Eye Exercises, I often challenge you to identify the color temperature of the room. On a scale of 1-10, your job is to pick the number that reflects the warmth level.
This post is here to help you see how we can visualize what “warmer” would look like if we made changes. Mind you, chat GPT didn’t follow my instructions very well with these images and kind of just applied a warmer filter to the image. But…notice that there are a few physical “spec” changes made. The color/fabric of the sofa, the material & color of the vase & coffee table.
So…learn to pay attention to these details & decisions. If you say a room is a 7.5 warmth. That means you have 2.5 left of potential changes in material, temperature, color, etc. to make it as warm as a 10. Often, there are more things that could really be changed to make it warmer. When you look at it like that…you may change your mind and decide the room is actually 6.75 not 7.5!
