Adventist World Radio

We are Adventist World Radio, dedicated to sending the gospel to every corner of the world, even in the most remote and inaccessible locations. Through radio broadcasts, Cell Phone Evangelism, Godpods, and Digital Evangelism on various social media platforms, we're striving to reach millions across the world in their native languages.

Since we started broadcasting back in 1975, we've seen and heard some truly inspirational stories of people who've experienced life-changing encounters with God.

We have stories from the highlands of Nepal to the bustling cities of India, the lush jungles of Madagascar to the serene islands of the Philippines, and from the war-scarred landscapes of Ukraine to the Arab communities of Israel. Regardless of their beliefs or professions, we have seen God reach a pagan chieftain, a witch, a professional assassin, and even rebels.

Witness God’s work at AWR, from broadcast to baptism.

If there was ever a person who had ample reason for discouragement, it was Fidy from Madagascar. Blind by the time he was 18, he lived with his mother—who was also blind! Then one day she died, and Fidy found himself alone, his future looking darker than ever. Or at least that’s how it should have been—except it wasn’t!

Watch his incredible story below. Fidy touched our hearts, and I know he’ll touch yours as well. God can turn darkness into light, and even the loneliest person in the world is never alone with Jesus . . . and with Adventist World Radio!

We have another unexpected story from Khami Prison to share. While on death row, Rodney had obtained a Bible and spent much time reading it and drawing closer to God.

When his sentence was commuted, he was overjoyed and expressed a desire to study the Bible more fully.

At the close of the AWR evangelistic series in the prison where our AWR region director for Africa, Immanuel Ogwal, preached the Unlocking Bible Prophecies series, Rodney was among those who were baptized.

This sparked nationwide interest in Rodney’s transformation to the point where his baptism made national headlines in Zimbabwe.

When Rodney’s mother heard the good news about his baptism, she couldn’t stop crying tears of happiness, saying, “Finally, the papers have something good to say about my son!”

Since then, Rodney has fully dedicated himself to serving God, saying it’s all he wants to do.

Praising God is not the first thing that comes to mind when problems arise. A man named Job had one trouble after another.

Though some may curse God and blame others, he did the exact opposite.

“And he said: ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.’” (Job 1:21)

What a response!

When you are tempted to turn away from God because you feel like He does not see or care about you, remember that you have a better choice: to turn to Him and remember what He has already done.

You can encourage yourself by counting your blessings and naming them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

It is always preferable when presenting distinct Bible doctrines to do so in incremental steps, building on what has been shared before. But this is not always possible on the radio. Audiences vary, and the very first message they hear could be radically new—even shocking. Yet it never ceases to amaze me how God works to convict hearts and minds. This was the case with Mama Cisit in Madagascar. One day her husband turned on the radio and heard for the very first time the truth about the Sabbath. Don’t miss what happened next . . .

A new year has started, and opportunities to become partners with God in blessing others can begin today. It is easy to get caught up in thinking about yourself or the problems of life, yet the joy of life comes from being with God and serving others just as Jesus did.

Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

As you see the needs of people around you, ask God to teach you how you can help them. You will find that doing good creates an abiding joy in your heart that no earthly pleasure can equal.

How can you be a blessing to others today? Share your thoughts in the comments.
