Life with Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary provides forever homes to farm animals in need and compassion-filled educational experiences to the public. We are home to pigs, cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, a rabbit, a parrot, and three dogs.
Life with Pigs is dedicated to educating people about the injustices faced by animals and how we can better coexist with our fellow earthlings. We operate under the guiding principle that animals are our equals and deserve equal consideration for their needs and desires.

GOAT Rescue In PROGRESS! And he is going to need some serious care once we get him. He has been living in the wild for the last few months and been seen by hikers about 2-3 miles back on a remote trail. So, we are working hard to get him and bring him directly to a vet. And we need your support. I’ll share more details soon. But he trusts me enough to get this close but does not want to be caught.
Hopefully soon I’ll have good news but please donate to help us with making sure his happily ever after begins soon!!

Betty went to see the specialists at Animal Eye Care because despite multiple visits and treatments, we just can’t seem to figure out why she is squinting one eye! Betty had the privilege of being the very first turkey they had seen in their office.
Luckily her eye function is great, and no sign of infection.. but we are still a little stumped! We will be trying some new meds and hoping that we won’t have to keep calling her Blinky Betty! Thanks to our friend at Unparalleled Suffering for the great photos! Donate towards Betty’s eye treatment here: give-usa.keela.co/donate-from-youtube

We love mornings around here. Everyone wants to say hello and hang out. I can’t imagine how anyone could see these adorable, hilarious, intelligent, loving beings as just a product to be sold or discarded. We know a world is coming where humans wake up and see that there is no need to harm others in order to live and be happy. That day just can’t come soon enough.
While we experience so much joy here, it’s always tinged with the knowledge that billions more like them are suffering and dying horribly and needlessly. If you love animals, please don’t pay for their harm - go vegan. 🌱 ❤️

If you donated yesterday, you helped save a life! One of our board members’ goats, a 250lb lovebug named Sweet Pea, developed a blockage just like Huckleberry had. She doesn’trailer, so we of course offered to help. We were getting our trailer ready to help take him to NC State Veterinary Hospital, when we realized the floor had started to rot. So we had to completely redo the floor in one day - an expense we were not expecting! Sweet Pea arrived safely at the hospital today and is in good hands. We are so grateful for the quick help from you all!

Huckleberry improvement!!!! His pee looks much more normal colored (not bright red) this morning!!!
We needed some good news - because we are dropping all previous plans today to deal with an emergency: a piece of our trailer floor collapsed this morning.
We are going to be replacing it today as not having that trailer means we can’t get any larger animals to the vet in case of an emergency. Don’t want to jinx ourselves but the way this year is going, that’s not a chance we want to take. give-usa.keela.co/donate-from-youtube

Poor Huckleberry! He had his neuter surgery and he did not enjoy it at all. All went well, and he is recovering now. But, he is definitely in pain now and it’ll be nice once he feels better again. Unfortunately, he had definitely full on hit puberty and we couldn’t risk Bonnie or Piper either getting pregnant or having him mounting them especially as he gets bigger. Poor Bonnie’s legs could not handle that.
This does just add to our already over packed year of vet bills and visits. So, if you can, please consider donating to our sanctuary and help us continue to do what we do for these wonderful animals we’ve been able to rescue from situations where a very sad ending was all that awaited them. Your support is how we are able to continue this vital work!

The world’s sweetest little lamb ♥️ How could the world keep spinning round without this little boy. He just oozes love and we love him right back!
Fortunately, he continues to recover and keep thriving after his surgery and multiple stays in the veterinary hospital. Hopefully it will just continue this way and he can just have a normal life with the addition of our cycle of giving him Ammonium Chloride to keep his pH low.

Charlotte really knows how to fully make use of her blankets. Even if it means poking her head right through them.
