Life With Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary

Life with Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary provides forever homes to farm animals in need and compassion-filled educational experiences to the public. We are home to pigs, cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, a rabbit, a parrot, and three dogs.

Life with Pigs is dedicated to educating people about the injustices faced by animals and how we can better coexist with our fellow earthlings. We operate under the guiding principle that animals are our equals and deserve equal consideration for their needs and desires.

Meet Sherman!

This little fluffball hatched less than a week ago and is already stealing hearts left and right. Sherman is the newest turkey member of our sanctuary family, and while he may be tiny, his personality is huge.

He’s curious, chatty, and already practicing his tiny turkey strut. He loves to fall asleep inside Ryan’s big warm hand, or curl up under Mallory’s fuzzy sweatshirt.

For now, Sherman is getting lots of cuddles and social time while he grows strong enough to join the flock.

Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet little guy—we can’t wait to see him and Quincy strutting around together! We are so thankful that he won’t be the reason someone is “thankful” on Thanksgiving. And if you are worried about him not having friends his own age, stay tuned 😉

Welcome to the world, Sherman!

Huckleberry is definitely our little love sheep!! You must come and meet him! He will greet you at the gate and immediately be your buddy. Hard to believe people were really thinking of making him their Easter dinner. We love this little lambs legs right where they are!!!

🚨Miles Update🚨 As of yesterday morning, Miles still wasn’t eating so we had to take him to be tube fed as he has lost a significant amount of weight since the surgery. The wonderful staff at Poquoson Veterinary Hospital made the process easy and quick. And it was exactly what he needed because yesterday evening and this morning we saw Miles on the goose cam eating his pellets!!! We are SO relieved. His surgery site seems to be healing well and he will have a follow up with the surgeon soon as well. Stahl Exotics, who did his surgery, have been amazing as well and we are lucky to have such an amazing team working for our Miles!

Miles is still in the recovery room and although he is drinking, he is still not eating since his surgery. He seems to have lost a significant amount of weight and we may have to see about trying another method to get him fed today. First we will be trying to lessen the frequency of one of the medications to see if that helps. Stacy is staying close by him of course. Please keep Miles in your thoughts today.
