A Hyundai i20 exploded at about 6:52 pm (local time) at the traffic signal of Subhash Marg, near Gate 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in New Delhi.

The blast resulted in at least 8 deaths and 20+ injured (some reports say up to 24).

The car had Haryana registration plates.

The explosion was powerful enough that nearby vehicles, e-rickshaws and autos caught fire, debris was scattered, windows shattered.

Several investigating agencies are involved (National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), forensic teams).
