The first Naked at Sunrise this year was powerful.

Now we move into the second edition of the year, and this one is deeply personal.

I’ll be hosting someone who has played a significant role in my own journey — my mentor and my coach, Anna McCoy.

Yesterday, we saw from Isaiah 40:4 that valleys would be filled. While we approached it from the point of taking responsibility for our journeys, today, let's come to the one who specialises in filling valleys and hand ours over to Him.

In Luke 4:18, Jesus announced that He had been anointed to deal with 'Valley people'. The poor, the broken hearted, the captives, the blind, and the bruised. Valley moments can be spiritual, emotional, financial, or relational. Whatever they look like, filling a valley is about stepping into healing.

The first step in healing in a valley is to recognise that God does not abandon us, He walks through with us. Psalm 23:4, says "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, thy rod and thy staff comfort me." You see, He goes with us. We walk through valleys, we do not camp there, and He comforts us in the process.

Valleys are never the first choice for anyone. However, they are necessary for the raising of sons. God teaches lessons in the valley that the mountain top can not steward. Most valleys we will encounter are transition phases that take us from who we are to who we should become.

So, while we may not gleefully embrace them, we must hold on to the hope that they are a phase and would pass. Think about David in Cave Adullam and the change in the lives of his men. Distressed and discontent indebted men became mighty men!Think about 1 Kings 3 and the assurance that the ditches would be filled with water.

Our valleys would be filled because we do not navigate them alone. The one with us is greater than the one in the world.

Father, I pray for everyone whose valley has lingered for too long. I decree an open door of escape today. Fill their ditches with water, Lord. Let their valley be filled in the name of Jesus!

This is not your final stop. The valley leads somewhere, I promise.
