This channel will aim to teach everything about business game simulations (Capsim, Cesim, BSG, Mikes Bikes, Back Bay Battery, and Hubro). Our goal is to make the aforementioned subjects more accessible and pleasant. I have over tenΒ years of experience instructing both high school and university students.
I can also provide private tutoring for a charge that is productive and conducive.

Struggling with Capsim Global? Feeling overwhelmed by global markets, R&D timing, or finance decisions? This Capsim Global 2026 Guide is designed to simplify the simulation and help you perform confidently from Round 1 to the final round.
Capsim Global is similar to Capstone, Core, and CompXM but it adds global complexity, which is where many students lose points. With the right strategy and execution, however, it becomes very manageable.
What Is Capsim Global?
Capsim Global is a competitive business simulation where you manage a sensor company competing against five identical firms in a global market.
Key Structure:
Regions: United States, Germany, China
Segments: Low Tech & High Tech
Total Markets: 6 (US/Germany/China Γ Low/High Tech)
Rounds: 7β8 (each round = 1 year)
You control R&D, Marketing, Production, and Finance decisions for the entire company.
Global Market Overview (Very Important)
Each region behaves differently:
United States: Largest starting demand, slower growth
Germany: Smaller demand, fast High Tech growth
China: Smaller demand, fast Low Tech growth
Your factory starts in the US, and you may relocate it only in Round 1 if your strategy supports it.
Recommended Strategy
The most reliable approach in Capsim Global is:
Broad Differentiation Strategy
Compete in both Low Tech and High Tech
Sell in all three regions
Focus on high-quality, well-positioned products
Invest aggressively early for long-term results
Early losses are normal. This is a long-term simulation, not a short-term profit game.
Product & Portfolio Setup
You start with 1 product and can introduce up to 3 more (max 4 total).
Best Product Mix Options:
Balanced: 2 Low Tech + 2 High Tech (Factory in US)
High Tech Focus: 3 High Tech + 1 Low Tech (Factory in US or Germany)
Low Tech Focus: 3 Low Tech + 1 High Tech (Factory in US or China)
Balanced works best for most students.
R&D Strategy (Where Scores Are Won or Lost)
Low Tech Products
Think Walmart: affordable and reliable.
Price matters most
Ideal age β 3 years
Revise every 2 rounds
MTBF: 20,000
High Tech Products
Think Apple / Tesla: cutting-edge and new.
Positioning is critical
Ideal age β 0 years
Revise every round
MTBF: 23,000
Missing a High Tech revision is one of the biggest mistakes students make.
Round 1: The Most Important Round
What you do in Round 1 sets up the entire game.
Strong Round 1 Approach:
Move the existing product toward Low Tech
Introduce 1 Low Tech + 1 High Tech product
Plan to reach 4 total products by Round 2β3
Region Kits & Factory Location
Region Kits:
Increase demand but raise costs
Skip early rounds
Add later, mainly for Low Tech products
Factory Location (Round 1 only):
Low Tech focus β China
High Tech focus β Germany
Balanced β Stay in US (recommended)
Marketing Strategy (Simple & Effective)
Marketing is done per product, per region.
Pricing:
Low Tech β Competitive pricing
High Tech β Price near the top of the range
Round 1 special case β Price $37β$39
Promotion & Sales:
Budget $1,000β$2,000
Build Awareness & Accessibility early
Small losses early are acceptable
Forecasting Tips
Forecast conservatively to avoid emergency loans.
Basic logic:
Market Share = Your CSS Γ· Total CSS
Demand = Last year demand Γ (1 + growth rate)
Forecast = Market share Γ Demand
Using Excel spreadsheets is highly recommended.
Production & Automation
Capacity:
Keep 20β30% extra capacity
Plan one year ahead
Automation:
Low Tech β 7β10
High Tech β 5β6
Use maximum upgrades early when possible
Finance Strategy (Donβt Fear Debt)
Early rounds require heavy investment.
Use all funding tools:
Short-term debt
Long-term debt
Stock issuance (only if stock price is healthy)
Target ending cash:
$5,000β$10,000 or ~10% of projected sales
Avoiding debt early is a common student mistake.
Final Takeaways
Early decisions matter more than later ones
Align strategy across all departments
Revise products on time
Forecast conservatively
Invest early, profit later
When approached correctly, Capsim Global becomes structured, logical, and even enjoyable.
