Maybe his H.P in this aspect? or 10/11 season arguably better?
Reminder that statistics were tracked from only 7 games, look how insane they're already while not getting half of his matches covered

----
We've all heard about those arguments made by new football fans about Pelé criticizing him about like "scored +1,000 Goals in farmers league" .. he did this and so and so, but today we're going to debunk all those arguments made against him.

----
First we should all know that football back then was different from what it's now it didn't had that commercial magnitude that it currently has and we all know, normally the player in that time was expected to walk his entire journey in his native or local country. We've barley seen any players go professional in clubs outside their countries in the 1950s & 1960s especially since there were laws originally give a certain limit or maximum Number of foreign players at a club, Therefore, since it's almost all the players in the nation play in the local league of that specific country, and an extremely low sample of those players who get out of this country become professional players the strength of the league in this country is evaluated very simply powerful, in terms of the strength of the playersp who hold the nationality of this country. For example, if we assume that at that time all French national team players
play in Ligue 1, all Brazilian national team players play in the Brasileirão, all the English national team players play in the Premier League, therefore to know which league is the strongest we'll just need to know which country is the strongest. The basic argument that which I want to debunk to this argument is the Brazil national team that won three World Cups, literally all the players on that team were playing in the local cup, which makes the Brazilian football or the Brasileirão the strongest league in the world literally in terms of stars. As for now there are some idiotic arguments that say: "France won the World Cup of 1998, which means that Ligue 1 or the French league was the best league in the world in that year bY tHaT lOgIc", and of course this is wrong, because most the French national team players were playing in the Italian league ( Serie A ) not the French league ( Ligue 1 ), so yeah don't only look at national team that won the World Cup or any major international tournament, look where they were playing

----
Now I'll have to give more details, this has to be contextual right? The argument is definitely correct but it's missing something, it has to be clarified. Well there is something most of you did not know about, in most of Pelé's career .. there wasn't even something called a "league" at all, then how is that? Where was Pelé even playing? Brazil is one of the biggest countries in the world and it's divided into counties that are considered the size of countries, like Sao Paulo's county, Rio de Janeiro's county, Rio Grande do Sul's county and every single county of those counties had an exclusive to clubs in this province and those leagues are still existing to this day, let me make it more clear, so basically Club de Regatas do Flamengo plays in Brasileirão and also plays in Rio de Janeiro's state league, so it plays in two leagues every season, and the name of Rio de Janeiro's state league is "Campeonato Carica", just like you know Pelé played with Santos, and Santos is located in Sao Paulo state. This means the domestic league of Sao Paulo's state name is "Campeonato Paulista" a league that is still present, Neymar for example won this league 3 times with Santos between 2010 --- 2012, now let us the players who were playing in Paulista's league in that time, we're talking about players who were playing with clubs like Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Corinthians and Portuguesa which are the top clubs of Sao Paulo's state alongside Santos in which Pelé was playing in it, now I'll focus on the Brazilian national team players who won the World Cup one time at least.
1) --> Gilmar dos Santos Neves:
Firstly, we've the goalkeeper Gilmar who's in my opinion one of the best goalkeepers of Brazil if not the best and he was also the main one for the Brazilian national team in 1958 & 1962, he was playing with Corinthians in the 50s and then he joined Pelé's Santos in 1961.
2) --> Djalma Santos:
He's considered by most of the historians and statitscans as the greatest Right-Back in the history of football and the only player alongside Franz Beckenbaur to enter the best XI of the World Cup in three different tournaments, he played for Palmeiras and then Portuguesa.
3) --> Dino Sani:
This excellent technical player who played for Sao Paulo and Palmeiras, was also one of AC Milan's legends in the 60s.
4) --> Mauro Ramos:
One of the greatest Centre-Backs & Defenders of Brazil and the captain of the national team in 1962, he was playing with Sao Paulo in the 60s and then made a move to Santos to join Pelé in the 60s.
5) --> José Altafini:
A legend of AC Milan, and especially the European Cup also known as the Champions League, he was playing for Palmeiras in the 50s.
6) --> Jair da Costa:
One of the best wingers in Brazil's history, he was playing with Portuguesa in the 60s, he's also known as a legend of Internazionale.
7) --> Vavá:
I'm quiet aware that none of you have heard of him, he scored two goals in the final of the 1958 World Cup, and a goal in 1962 W.C final one of the best strikers in the Brazilian football, also played 3 years with Palmeiras in the 60s.
8) --> Jerson:
We've Jerson, who's one of the best Midfielders, he scored in the 1970 W.C final, and was also playing with Sao Paulo in the 60s & 70s.
9) --> Rivellino:
One of the best Brazilian football players ever in general, one of the best Wingers & Playmakers in the 70s, spent 10 years with Corinthians which play in the Sao Paulo's state league.
10) --> Zé Maria:
We've also got, Zé Maria one of the great Right-Backs who played with Portuguesa & Corinthians, he was the best player in the Brasileirão as a Full-Back.
11) --> Émerson Leão:
He was one of the best goalkeepers of his time, known for his leadership, shot stopping ability, and aggressive playing style. He was Brazil’s starting goalkeeper in the 1974 World Cup and was also part of the 1970 squad that won the tournament, he played for Palmeiras.
Those are the players who were playing only in Paulista's league not in Brazil in general, the Brasileirão as you might now started from 1967, like in the middle of Pelé's career, but that was after his injury that completely changed his career in 1966. Alright then before 1967 how was the Brazilian States League's clubs were playing how were the Brazilian clubs who were from different counties play against each other? Before 1967 there was a competition named "Tasa Brazil" in which the every different State League's winners play, like the winner's of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais ... etc, and the winner of this tournament will qualify for the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores which is the UCL of the South American football clubs, Pelé was the Top Goal-Scorer of this competitor three times, and of course Santos were facing the Top Teams of Brazil outside Paulista's league like Vasco da Gama, Fluminese, Flamengo and Botafogo till the end.
So you've players he faces like Didi which in my personal opinion the greatest Box-to-Box player no.8 in history and also the best 1958 W.C player, you've Garrincha the well known, you've Nilton Santos one of the best Left-Backs ever, you've Mário Zagallo, one of the most important characters in the Brazilian football generally and one of the greatest Left-Wingers, also Amarildo who was a compensation for Pelé in the 1962 W.C after his injury and made an insane performance for history, also not forgetting Brito who was a very great Defender and uncountable legends like Tostão, Jairzinho, Paulo César. All of those players were playing in the local leagues in Brazil alongside the other players whom I mentioned and were playing in Sao Paulo's clubs, Pelé was almost facing them weekly, in addition to that there was also an official tournament that was called Rio Sao Paulo which was simply you know a competition in which Rio de Janeiro & Sao Paulo's clubs face in h2h, and yes Pelé & Santos were playing in it.

----
Now let us step back and talk about Sao Paulo's state league's clubs, yes they had alot of stars but were they really solid? and how can we know if whether they were or not. In that time, because of how strong the Brazilian teams were the whole world wanted to watch them play and for that purpose the Brazilian clubs made friendly games to collect money from all around the world and including Europe, despitefully those games not being played official tournaments. However, they were given so much importance and highly valued, matches that sometimes brought more than 100,000 fans. For example Santos V's Real Madrid in 1959 at the Santiago Bernabeu there were 70,000 viewers despite it being an unofficial match, there were even some that broke the 100,000 viewers limit, those games were so important to the level that Brazil sometimes proceed to send the second team to play official matches and it takes the first one to play a friendly one in Europe.

Hi Sneijder deserved 2010 Balloon d'Or FC ☠

Debunking this case:

While Sneijder had an extraordinary first half of 2010, his candidacy weakens when you examine his post-Treble and post-World Cup performances. Let’s break this down:

*1) SNEIJDER’S FIRST HALF OF 2010 — PHENOMENAL*

INTER TREBLE

Sneijder was instrumental in Inter Milan’s historic treble:
— Serie A Champion: Key Playmaker in Inter's title win under José Mourinho.

— Coppa Italia Champion: Delivered creative sparks and controlled Midfield tempo.

— U.E.F.A Champions League Winner: Contributed 3 goals & 6 assists during the campaign, including decisive performances in the knockout rounds (e.g., goal vs. Barcelona in the semifinals).

FIFA World Cup FINALIST

— Sneijder was the joint-Top Goal-scorer with 5 goals, including clutch strikes (e.g., double vs. Brazil in the quarterfinals).
Played a critical role in leading the Netherlands to the final, where they narrowly lost to Spain.

— His performances during this period made him a favorite for the Ballon d’Or after the summer.

*2) SNEIJDER’S SECOND HALF OF 2010 — INCONSISTENCY*

After the World Cup, Sneijder’s form dropped significantly:

INJURIES & FATIGUE

— Sneijder struggled with fitness issues and fatigue following a grueling season and World Cup campaign.

— His performances lacked the same intensity and consistency that defined his first half of the year.

INTER MILAN’S STRUGGLES

— Post-Mourinho, Inter under Rafael Benítez and later Leonardo experienced a dip in dominance.

— Inter did win the FIFA Club World Cup in December 2010, but Sneijder played only sparingly in the competition and was not a key contributor.

STATISTICAL DECLINE

— Unlike Lionel Messi, who maintained astonishing numbers throughout the year, Sneijder's productivity significantly dropped after the World Cup.

— In the latter half of 2010, Sneijder’s goal contributions for Inter were minimal, and he struggled to recapture his early-year brilliance.

*3) WHY THIS HURT HIS BALLON D’OR CHANCES?*

The Ballon d’Or reflects performances over the entire calendar year. Sneijder’s decline post-summer made it difficult for voters to justify his case over players like Messi, who maintained their excellence throughout 2010.

*Messi’s Consistency:* Messi dominated for Barcelona all year long, scoring and creating at unprecedented levels.

*Iniesta and Xavi’s Case:* Though not as prolific statistically, Iniesta and Xavi’s club-level consistency and World Cup win also overshadowed Sneijder's uneven year.

*4) THE NARRATIVE V'S THE REALITY*

Sneijder’s incredible Treble + World Cup run created a strong narrative for him to win. However, when voters examined the full year, they saw that:

— His influence waned in the latter half of 2010.

— His contributions, while important, were not at the same level as Messi, Iniesta, or Xavi when considering overall quality and consistency.

So ... In
*CONCLUSION*

Yeah Sneijder’s first half of 2010 was legendary, but despite all of this ... the second half exposed cracks that cost him the Ballon d’Or ... This reflects the award's philosophy: it rewards sustained excellence over an entire year rather than just peak moments, no matter how glorious those moments may be.
