My husband and I moved from Los Angeles to a small French Town with a population of 8,000 full-time residents. It’s a small town, so you can’t leave your house and think you'll remain anonymous; you'll run into at least a few people you know anytime you go anywhere. The last time our college-age daughter came to visit she says, “This place is like a college campus?!” the comment really made me laugh out loud, because it does feel like living on a “campus”, you run into lots of people you know, shop, eat and relax all at the same places, the same people, everyday through every season with no “graduation day” in sight (when you all will go your separate ways). And truly, it was one of the most unexpected parts of moving here, and I have to say, one of the best parts too! For more French Life Stories that will probably make you laugh, you can delve into my essays on my Substack :) entertainingwithbeth.substack.com/t/french-life-st…
