Project Name : The Pilgrims Highland
While designing this project, our intent was to bring the graceful charm of the colonial era into a contemporary community space. This single-storey Community Centre has been designed with an increased room height of 4m, in line with KMBR norms, to create a sense of grandeur.
The elevation features a colonial-style balustrade with a heavy coping slab used on the parapet, adding elegance and scale to the structure. Full-height fixed windows on the front façade enhance the elevation and invite natural light, while the illusion of a central pitched roof breaks the monotony of the frontage.
A distinct feature wall showcases the institution’s logo on warm wooden panelling, accentuated with LED profile lighting to highlight the circular form. As a cherry on top, a planter box is placed at the front, serving as a subtle green frame that grounds the façade and softens its visual presence.

Kripasanam
This elegant beachside residence was designed for our wonderful clients, Mr. Wilnes Pereira and Mrs. Vineetha. From the beginning, they had a clear vision for their home’s elevation, seeking a blend of modern design and a harmonious play of architectural elements.
Though a single-storey structure, the home creates the illusion of a two-storey dwelling, thanks to a prominent stair tower at the front. A skylight positioned above this tower gently illuminates a serene prayer space located along the hallway, adding both function and spiritual warmth to the design.
It has been a true pleasure to bring this vision to life for such a lovely couple, and we are deeply grateful for the trust they placed in us.

We are thrilled to unveil one of our most distinctive ongoing projects in Uloor, "Kailash," owned by the wonderful couple @ajeesh_murugan and @sangeethasudarsanan. The name "Kailash" is inspired by the serenity and tranquility of the sacred Kailasa mountain in the Himalayas, a symbol of peace.
This architectural marvel, with its striking white facade, stands out prominently among the surrounding residential buildings. Its grand and commanding structure is the most iconic feature, making a bold statement in the skyline. To enhance its elegant form, we've incorporated fixed glass elements that mirror the graceful curves of the balcony, seamlessly blending with the overall design and adding a touch of modern sophistication.

In designing this minimalist home, we meticulously considered the functionality of each element in the elevation. The intricate jaali work in the stair tower serves a dual purpose: it facilitates the escape of hot air from the common spaces and offers visual connectivity to the gate while ensuring privacy.

The box sunshade with its curved corners stands out in the elevation, with brick cladding inside the frame accentuating the first floor. We outlined the plinth in charcoal grey to conceal dirt on the exterior walls. Warm neutral LED spotlights highlight the washed-out concrete texture of the sunshades.

At the client's request, we avoided projections on the ground floor to allow unobstructed movement around the building. The sunshades provide shelter from the rain when moving from the porch to the entrance.

When designing interiors for double-height spaces, scale plays a crucial role depending on the function of the area. For the reception area of a shuttle court, we propose reducing the height factor by incorporating horizontal beams across the walls and using hanging pendant lights to illuminate the seating area.

The reception desk wall is adorned with traditional motif wallpaper in an emerald green and gold finish. In contrast, the surrounding walls feature a light beige finish, creating a classic reception interior. A red Persian carpet leads to the court's entrance, clearly demarcating the circulation path. To accommodate more people, we selected round benches for the seating area. But once you sit down to relax your eyes will follow the purlins connecting the tall ridges of the roof, giving you a sense of awe for the scale.
We wanted to bring the influence of traditional palatial features with the choice of the wallpaper, the carpet and the pendant lights projecting from the wall surface, keeping the nostalgia of the old. Let us know what you liked and disliked about this design.

Designing an elevation for a commercial building at Trivandrum.

Our favourite building type to design is definitely - commercial buildings. Our clients are ready to go for anything that stands out. So we chose a beautiful rusted copper jaali net that lets out a translucent glow from the warm lights through the glass in the back, the vertical louvers are kept to hold up the logo or the sign board. The curtain glass is very neatly flamed with black frames to add a few vertical elements in the elevation.

Certainly a design we had fun with. Let us know your thoughts too.
