I won’t let you!” In that moment, vulnerability broke through their usual bravado. “I’ve always been there for you, Deku,” Bakugo confessed, breath hitching. “I… I care about you.” Deku felt warmth bloom in his chest. “I care about you too, Kacchan!” With a final breath, their hands clasped tightly, they both succumbed to darkness, whispering each other’s names. Hours passed. Miraculously, sirens grew louder, and paramedics arrived just in time.
