My name is Noah Rye. I am a Double Bassist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and a beginning composer.
I hope to be a professional musician and I am considering going into music education. I play classical, jazz, and songs from video games that I like (e.g. ULTRAKILL).

I hope that my videos can help others learn, and I hope to receive feedback and learn myself. My videos will most likely consist of; scales, solos, "progress updates" on various instruments, and more! (This may change.)
I always appreciate feedback and I will try to answer any question the best I can.

Member of the International Society of Bassists (ISB) since 6/13/25
Instruments I play (as of 5/26/25):
Double Bass: 4 years of experience, Primary instrument.
Viola: 7 months of experience
Cello: 2 months of experience, I am considering the cello as a secondary instrument.
Violin: 2 months of experience

Hello!
For those of you who don't know, I am a member of the Tulsa Youth Symphony (TYS)'s Symphony Orchestra, and I am one of five bassists in the symphony orchestra! This is my third year being a member of TYS, and I have been in all the orchestras. TYS has been a wonderful opportunity for me to work with other musicians, make friends, and enjoy the cookie breaks. I have met a lot of great people, and plan to be a member until graduation! TYS has a tuition drive going on right now and it ends in 8 days. If anyone feels like they are able to donate and help young artists, some of which would not be able to participate in this wonderful program without the help. it would mean a LOT! 50% of the donation goes to the member you donate to and the other 50% goes to the organization.

If you are in the Tulsa area, please consider going to one of their concerts. Tickets are typically 20 dollars each. More information can be found at tulsayouthsymphony.org/. I hope to perform as a soloist in the Spring Serenade concert if I win the Concerto Competition, and I will be performing Serge Koussevitzky's Concerto for the Double Bass in F# Minor. Their concerts are always amazing!

Hello,
It's been a bit since I last posted. I've been busy with some summer camps and have one left to go. I will try to continue uploading soon!

Question for my bass friends; I'm looking at upgrading my bow soon and am looking for a carbon-fiber French bow in the $300-500 range, and am looking for solo tuning strings. Does anybody have recommendations?
