The Seven of Cups in Lon Milo DuQuette’s Tarot of Ceremonial Magick is titled "Illusionary Success" — Venus in Scorpio.
The martini glasses suggest pleasure, beauty, and indulgence. But the olives almost resemble little eyes, turning the image into something more unsettling.
Venus seeks pleasure. Scorpio intensifies it, deepens it, and can turn desire into obsession.
So this card warns us about seductive illusions: pleasures that look like rewards, but may actually cloud our vision and pull us into emotional entanglement.
