I'm playing around with starting a game development project with a hacking theme. Would you want to see videos about it on this channel, another second channel, or not at all?
Filming a video about this later tonight, but I had my first malware hit my honeypot servers. I reverse engineered it and wrote up a piece about it on Twitter (for free)
I'm going to be building an e-book for Rust malware development. It will be for sale, but cheap. I'm going to follow the "Forever Work-In-Progress" model on LeanPub where you pay once to get the current version and you get access to all subsequent versions.
I'm going to focus most of my effort on the e-book to get it off the ground, but after that I'm going to develop a video course on it as well.
I know that the AI/ML and business videos are a bit of a pivot. I get that, and for those of you who are just here for maldev stuff, I understand unsubbing or not watching. That’s nbd.
For those who are here, understand that I’m not trying to be a YouTuber. YouTubers very rarely build anything worth building. I want to build and make and create, and YouTube is a medium I use to yap about it.
So content might be a bit different as I build new things. I hope yall stick around for the ride!
All - The Discord has been shut down. The emails I've gotten from Discord don't sound super promising. I'm exploring new options, one of them being a self-hosted forum or chat application.
Bearing my bias first: I would prefer a forum. I want to build a research community, and chat apps, to me, are a bit too ephemeral to serve as a good research community. They're annoying to admin, frequently spammed and the posts often disappear.
I understand that folks like chat apps (like Discord) and that they frequently serve as great ways to build commuity and relationship, though, so I'm putting it up to a poll before I move forward. There are great chat apps and forum software that can be self-hosted and are open source, so that's not a make or break.
The one that I go with: - will be self-hosted - will be free with some sort of way to monetize it - will be open source
Please vote seriously here as I'll be deciding at least in part based on this poll.
Hey all. Unfortunately it has happened: the Discord community was shut down for "malicious activity." I am appealing the request, but since the nature of the Discord was to discuss the writing and research of malware, I would not at all be surprised if it stays shut down.
This shutdown occurred shortly after a user in the Discord was booted for advertising their garbage RAT, so I have a vague feeling we were reported in retribution for that.
I am appealing the shutdown, but I am going ahead and deactivating all members on the Subb community so you are not charged any more than you are supposed to be.
I apologize for the inconvenience, hope that the community is rebooted, and will keep everyone up to date.
